Fultz was the best player on the floor tonight. Vuc even said it himself. He deserves this vest

Our best stretches were with Markelle making things happen with the ball in his hands. He got whatever he wanted and the game looks so easy to him. Watching him develop with the other young guys is going to be exciting this year. He gets my vote for the sweater vest.

Vooch, because I want to force Fultz to be even better next game.

Honestly Fultz played great for his first meaningful minutes in a long time, but his court vision and playmaking is elite RIGHT NOW. There's some sauce in his play we've not had for a while, he gets my vote for that reason

objectively Vučević by wide margin, but just like every year, that's not how 95% board votes so Fultz will win it.

Vučević had 8 of teams 37 FGA, lead team in rebunds and contributed to at least 40 points ( that i could count ) with his scoring, screens and passes.

Not a wide margin at all. I was at the game and you can see when Fultz was in we were way better tonight. +13 in 23 minutes and had 12 points 6 assist. Vuc was solid certainly, had an extra 4 points pretty much when game was over. He was easily in the conversation but Fultz was impressive early with offense and then throughout the game with his pace and passing.

Fultz and it’s not even close. Vuc is salivating at the pick n roll play he could have with Fultz. You can see the chemistry he has with him, he’s excited. Fultz though can make any player better but you have to be ready (Bamba)

I don't care about vest thing and i find it being "hottake of a night" type of "award" for years.

Fultz had 12 points and 6 assists. On bigger scale it's not impressive at all. It's only impressive because how terrible he played in past and because he shot 30% from the floor in preseason.

As i said, this is hot take of a night "award" always with strong bias toward younger players. Last year there were games where Isaac had less than 10 points but few blocks and posters were voting for him.

Eh, I think most of the vests are pretty fair tbh. If anything I think some nights "stat stuffers" win when they shouldn't, or someone with 11 points that hits game winner instead of someone with like a huge game that kept us in it all game wins. That's when I disagree. I don't think Vuc did enough defensively for it to really matter in this case. Like I said, Vuc was just solid. Like I will take this Vuc game but I know he can do way more. Part of it is Fultz being hyped up since he hasn't played in forever but IN the arena there was a palpable difference when he had the ball in his hands, I'm glad it came through on TV as well.

Also I can't remember each vest but I would vote someone with less than 10 points if they helped shut down a big scorer or was just all over the place with steals/blocks/defense/smart plays, especially if no one else did something too special out there other than be solid.

Vuc did what he does, so playing to his own standard makes it harder for him to move the needle on a night like tonight.

Fultz played above the expectations (for most) and had a big impact on the play on court.

These awards will always go to who catches the spirit of the fan base for that game. Tonight, it was Fultz.

tbh i think Aminu had good game and he was 1-5 from the floor and 2-4 from FT line so i understand voting for somebody who didn't put up lot of empty stats.
I don't want to argue over a win about something that is fan-thread , but it's just my opinion that Fultz was voted because of hype not because of his actual production ( not saying his production didn't exist, but not as much as Vuc ) .

Imo we will know much more about whole team after 10 games, schedule where they in first 4 games play 3 worst teams will lead toward lot of hot takes and inflated hype.

Also if I'm team's doctor, i'm running concussion protocol on Gordon again. Guy took 1 hit in head and looks like crap since it.

Great start for Markelle. Comeback kid! 1st game since the injury and he is definitely back from the dead! Will wait til he gets his timing and range for the 3 mid season. You deserve the vest. You are a game changer for rhe Magic this season.

Vučević was the better player over Fultz, but the game was won because Orlando's bench dominated the Cavs' bench. SO I am ok that Fultz will win this.

Who voted for Fournier? The dude had a +/- of negative 10.
