The Magic have decided to rest Mo Bamba in one game of each back-to-back. A tibial stress fracture forced Bamba to miss 30 games last season. Bamba won’t play when Orlando hosts MKE tomorrow but will play vs. DEN on Saturday.

Looks like we will see what the backups look like with Birch tomorrow night. Very interesting.

This is them evaluating what they look like with Birch...He mentions the old injury to deflect from that my guess is that theyre unrelated. Trying to get a win against a PO team. We already know what Birch can do.

Fultz + Birch connection will make us all hate Bamba. Birch has awareness.

This will hopefully help our bench. I think Bamba has better potential than Birch, but playing Birch may help us win defensively. Bamba’s been getting thrown around a lot. We do lose offensively though, Birch is Deshawn Stevenson level bad at hitting layups.

Good for Birch to be able to play, and we know he'll be ready and will be solid, but the Bamba hate this year has been weird. I mean, this board at any given time has always had one player it irrationally disliked, but still. I'm not saying he's been amazing, and he still has his moments of looking like a young and inexperienced player, but he really hasn't been bad so far through 4 games.

It is weird. It's also weird to see people hate on Fournier even though he's been the best scorer on the team this year and Vuc who's been the best player on this team since Oladipo was traded. But here people stay hating on both.

He hasn't been too good this year but it's only a small sample size. I believe his -2.9 net rating is one of the worst on the team.

Eh.. i'm more worried about letting opponents score. I mean we are getting a rep for having a low-scoring games with "supposedly" high scoring teams. If we make 3-50 but the opponents are just 1-50 then I'm all for it.

What I don't like to see is opposing guards just shooting over Bamba without him even trying to raise his hands up. Or when I'm looking for our big man bumping downlow I see him loafing in the 3pt line asking for the ball to shoot. I'd rather see him do what Birch does and roll to the rim and wait for a pass or potential offensive rebound.

Not true. He does nothing to impact the game either way. He doesn’t do anything. Even his biggest advocates have to know he isn’t an active player unless they’re just blind.
