Where does Dwight Howard rank in the all time Orlando Magic players.

Honorable mentions:

Shaq
Tracy McGrady
Vince Carter
Penny Hardaway

He has to be one or two, he was extremely important to Magic’s success when he was here. I still think he deserved that MVP that Derrick Rose won. He was unworldly that season.

1a) Dwight
1b) T-Mac
2) Penny
3) Shaq

-> No one else is close.

Dwight gets the super tight nod over T-Mac for having greater postseason success. Surely that is a team driven thing and not all the credit / blame falls on one player but when splitting hairs we have to make up something.

Anderson will be part of any discussion. And Nelson deserves consideration.

If Vučević plays out his contract, he will be 1c over Hardaway and O'Neal.

While Anderson and Nelson are in the #1 class for the “Favorite Player” award, neither belongs in the conversation for “Best Player.” These are very different things. Don’t confuse them.

Vuc is not the talent Dwight, T-Mac, Penny or Shaq were but if he is the best player on a team that eventually makes a big post season run then sure, I can push him up near the top of this list. Time will tell.

What are the criteria?

-whether or not was drafted by orlando?

-duration/longevity of career?

-player ranking/talent?

-season ranking? (Playoff run)

-fan favorite?

There are plenty of different things to judge All-time Magic Player on.

My favorite Magic player is Bo Outlaw. The best NBA player ever to wear a magic jersey is Shaq. By the criteria above the All-time player would be Dwight.

He's accomplished more in a Magic jersey than anybody in our history. He's number 1.

Diener.

ok really, it Shaq for me. The best, most dominant player we ever had was Shaquille. I don't care what Dwight's team did. He benefited from the mess up with Shaq because by the time he got here, the magic were willing to spend to keep the team together and going. Tmac next, then Dwert. To each his own though.

as in Ryan Anderson? dude was here for only 3 years. as previously mentioned, he should not be in discussion of best Magic player

lol, I didn’t even think of Rhyno. I sure hope that isn’t what he meant! I assume he means Nick Anderson.

Shaq and McGrady were more individually dominant players, but Dwight was here 8 years and those two were only here 4 apiece. Just depends on how much you value longevity.

Just in terms of peak as a Magic player...

1. Shaq
2. TMac
3. Dwight
4. Penny

But throwing longevity into the mix...

1. Dwight
2. Shaq
3. TMac
4. Penny

What about Vuc? Longevity is what should put him on that 2nd list. He just past Jameer on the all time leaders in points for the magic and is 4th behind Tmac, Nick and Dwight and will be third by the season's end. Yay. Should longevity put him in front of Shaq? I'm having trouble even thinking he should go in front of Penny lol (i am biased a bit due to Penny being my all time fave magic player).

Vuc takes a hit because of lack of team success. The Vuc era has been the darkest period in our franchises history.
