Me personally I knew after 1 year these dudes were clueless. What do yall think has to happen for us to get the new GM we desperately need.

If the Magic miss the playoffs, but also aren't bad enough/lucky enough to get a top 5 pick.
Then (and only then IMO) will you start to see plenty of local and national media folks questioning the plan to double down on last year's roster.
But it's too early right now to throw dirt on the grave.
They're 1 game out of 8th, ya know? 1.5 out of 7th. 2 out of 6th. Etc.

we're also 1 game out of 15th and for a team that brought back 100% of it's starting 5 & 95% of it's core roster this ain't a good look. Let me see 20 games in and we have more data points

I get people are frustrated, but they're going to give them as much rope as humanly possible this season.
*Especially* factoring in last year's second half turnaround, the Magic are not pulling the plug on ANYTHING after 20 games, 30 games, even 40 games.
If they're still awful at the deadline... then sure. Re-evaluate. But it's just not happened before then.

when they run out of the okay hennigan players to resign. they did fail at almost everything that requires thinking and creativity aside from signing clifford in my opinion, so it's just a matter of time.

I like Isaac and Fultz, and at least the rationale for drafting Bamba. I like Clifford. I don't like the Vuc and Ross contracts. Jury's still out.

As long as we are selling tickets, Alex Martins and Magic ownership will do nothing. Weham have the most secure job in the NBA.
Doubt we will make any changes anytime soon in the next 3-5 years lol.

They were on the hot seat when they spent the #6 pick on Bamba and gave Vuc a 4yr/$100 deal in a year timeframe.

To many folks on this board? Sure.
To ownership? I'm not at all convinced the DeVos family and Martins think Weltman and Hammond are doing anything but a great job.

Hard to make bad moves when you don't make any moves at all.

Goes to show what the majority of owners know about building successful nba teams. I’d bet Dolan thinks New York is in a great position too.

And trading for fultz, but that might be it

When do the seats heat up on bi-polar fans?
Seriously.
Only twice since 2009 has Hammond gone to the deadline without a trade (3 times if you ignore the lame duck Elf deal).
So,
a) Moves will be made.
b) It’s mother **** November 6th!!!!

If we end up in the lottery and they draft a center.

Weltman's boss is Martins. I think Martins would rather suck with Vucevic on the roster than suck without him on the roster.
Anyway, the point at which his seat begins to warm is a long way off. We exceeded expectations last season and made the playoffs for the first time since Howard was dealt. They haven't done anything remotely controversial. I might not be enthused by the direction they are taking, but there isn't any reason to think they won't be here for the next few years.

i like the move and it's a very well executed trade. but again this whole board and half the league were expecting that trade to happen. it required no vision, no guts, no creativity, no risk. it doesn't fall outside of my sense of who weltham are, and didn't change my opinion of them when it happened.

Looks like a guard rich draft at the top.

Which is why picking a center would be a reason for their seats to heat way up.

Ohh agreed FO isn’t going anywhere I’m saying after 20 games we should have more data for the team and how we’re playing. Then people can get further down the what are we doing mode and how to improve via trades etc etc
