I've watched him play quite a few times in the NBL in Australia.

Whilst from all reports he is a great guy, he shoots worse than his brother, and that's saying something. His FG% is 36%, and his 3PT% 20%... He had one game where he shot the lights out and scored 24 (5/11 3PT), but other than that he has been shooting 1/7, 0/5 etc

It's a big no from me based on our needs

Calling it now Tyrese Haliburton will be talked about a ton as the year goes on. 6'5" with 7'0" wingspan is a G and his stock should put him mid/late 1st.

A scoring guard.. never heard of one.

Magic list of draft prospects for 2020:

1) NOT A CENTER
2) NOT A POWER FORWARD

Done.

With these injuries, this thread is starting to get a lot more interesting.

Gotta be more specific than that, or else you're just inviting them to draft the next Frank Ntilikina.

Orlando is currently slotted at #16. At that range a team is usually looking for a combo-wing or a SF as a bench player.

RJ Hampton could be an interesting example this year. He will be more seasoned than a typical one-and-done player and checks many boxes for Orlando. Okeke and Hampton as duel rookies would also complete the off-season.

Let's assume that Augustin is not brought back, but Fournier is. At that point the roster is about decisions for Birch, Iwundu, and Carter-Williams. For me: only Carter-Williams and Iwundu would be brought back at or near min. deals/ (Birch will be overly expensive). Amile Jefferson might get a real-deal.

Orlando could easily look like:

Fultz/Carter-Williams/Hampton
Fournier/Ross
Isaac/Okeke
Gordon/Aminu/Jefferson
Vučević/Bamba/vet-min FA

Looking at that roster the major area that could be improved would be to combine the Augustin, Fournier, and Birch salary lines to go after a larger-name SG: Beal for example.

Right now at 16th, Tankathon has us taking Scottie Lewis from my U of F. That would be fun for me, but I am not sure you guys would be thrilled with him. Reminds me of a longer, more athletic Oladipo. Dude finds the "hard" assignment on defense and works his butt off. He also has some wild dunking ability.

My dream get that isn't top 3 would be Avdija. That guy looks like he could be another Luka. Dude plays with such fire on both ends of the floor and watching him in the U20 beat the crap out of Spain and France was something to see.

2- Jordan Nwora G/F Louisville
3- Isaiah Joe G Arkansas
A scoring guard.. never heard of one.

Maybe this levels out, but the fact that Scottie Lewis is 16th in this mock might be a reflection of how weak this draft is going to be.

Huge win against Xavier yesterday though. Mike White looks like he might have got his team to buy in quicker than I anticipated. They looked really lost against FSU and UConn.

I might need to back track on this opinion soon... :o  8-)

Last night LaMelo almost single handedly won a match for his team, nailing a 32 point triple double... which included 4/7 3PT!

I am not sure how he does it with his shooting style, but his form in the past few weeks has been sensational.

RJ Hampton also plays in the league, and LaMelo has him covered to date.

Im not going to be shocked when we select Obi Toppin with out draft pick. He just seems like a prototypical draft pick based on past years

White's got a lot of work to do. Their half court offense is putrid most nights.

Regarding Scottie, much as I'd like to have a GATOR end up here, I would be rather upset if he is our yield from this year's draft. He's 2-3 years away from any major contribution as a scorer and he's awfully small.

I just want us to tank and tank hard. Hit the reset button once and for all.

Seeing the Magic hit jumpers in the last game could be a sign that the above will not result as a consideration,.

I would take Markus Howard in the 1st round. I've been pretty underwhelmed with most players in the mid-lottery to late 1st round.

This guy is really improving his stock. 17-6-5 in a nice win over Seton Hall.

Shot release looks like it's gotten a lot quicker. Scoring and assists are obviously way up from last year, but hardly any drop off in efficiency which you love to see.

His steal rate has also spiked dramatically which has been a decent predictor of success at the NBA level.

ESPN currently has him 10th overall on their big board already. NBADraft.net has him 12th. I'm a big fan.

Tyrese, doesn't seem to have a pullup game. He is a good facilitator however.

This year Im going to latch onto a player based on how cool their name because I have just as much of a chance at picking correctly if I based it off of stats. I'm not familiar with anyone in the draft.

WTF is Tyrese Haliburton?
