Well deserved after a slow start, and he even kept those numbers up despite the SAS game. He's looking just as good as last season right now.

A lot of negativity thrown his way for the slow start to follow a big payday but he is back to work and playing as well as ever.

Giannis is always great, but the Bucks play at such a faster pace than the Magic do that his raw stats are always going to appear to be more outrageous than a lot of other players.

Giannis put up 33-15-4 over his last three, but did it at under a 111.58 pace (and a 35.9% USG).

Vucevic put up 22-14-4 on a 100.11 pace and a 23.4 USG% USG.

These types of awards are generally given to the players with the best raw stats and pace of play doesn't ever seem to be factored into it. I mean Towns has won, Harden has won twice, and Giannis has won once as well and those are the top 3 teams in pace this year. I agree with your premice though about pace inflating statlines (my argument this summer in the Collins vs Isaac debates), but when it comes to things like this it doesn't seem to matter.

It's much easier for me to buy the "he already won a player of the week award so they want to give it to another player" argument then it is that one. Even though Harden winning his second consecutive one kind of throws a wrench into that theory as well.
