Looks like some of that optimism was misplaced...
No structural damage is positive at least.

Seems like an extreme amout of time. Maybe they're looking to the future and can see this team isn't going anywhere this season.

I’m just happy it wasn’t a season ending injury.

I'll take it. Still going to be a rough two months...

Two months off could help his development if he's still able to shoot. Then they could get him back for the stretch run, assuming we don't crumble.

So it’s safe to say AG has now quickly become untouchable simply due to injuries? It’s going to be a slow deadline boys.

This seems like a very precautionary move than anything. I don’t blame them, I would go the long route too for a franchise cornerstone.
I’m just glad it wasn’t a serious injury and he’ll be back this season.

Well if we go on a 10 game losing streak, we could have a fire sale.

Better than an ACL tear but still upsetting. He will almost certainly not make an All-Defense team now. Sure, try again next year, but you can't take anything for granted. Should have had the honor this year if not for this injury.

"MRI reveals that @OrlandoMagic F Jonathan Isaac has a posterior lateral corner injury and a medial bone contusion. Isaac will be out indefinitely and re-evaluated in eight-to-10 weeks. Operative and non-operative treatments will be considered."
Now it's 8-10 weeks and there may be surgery. Still better than something worse. But even if it was an ACL, you could say an ACL injury was better than having your leg bitten off at the knee by a shark. He's still out for a significant amount of time. More games missed for a young guy who already missed most of his rookie season. Lot of in-game reps being lost to injury for JI. It sucks, there's no way to truly sugarcoat it.

Not if we set our sights on trading vets and tanking.
I doubt that becomes the case but it is a path teams have taken.
Most “sources” claim the Warriors will not trade Russell until the summer. This injury could also help us justify not making a deal and then building an offer around AG in the offseason.

Wasn't that the same timetable they gave for Vucevic's ankle? He was back within a month. I don't know what that means. I'm just not sure how concrete this time frame is.

Urgh that hurts alot, in 10 weeks time we'll be well into March and probably already know where we stand in the playoff hunt, very conceivable he gets shut down. That doesn't sound like a little amount of damage, no risks should be taken
Also that's re-evaluated in 10 weeks time...

When Vuc sprained his ankle, it was reported he would be re-evaluated in 7-10
days... This is 8-10 weeks.
After Isaac's positive comments and Denton's tweet yesterday that he may miss no time, I am hoping this is a very precautionary estimate and that he might be back to full strength earlier but they just wont take any chances, because thats the right approach when talking about a player of Isaac's talent level.
Best case might be 20-25 games left in the season when he returns here, and if at that point we are 10 games under .500 there may be no point.
My guess is they give the current unit a few weeks to see if they can hold onto a playoff spot without Isaac... If they can't, all bets are off.

It could have been much worse, but he sounded much more optimistic yesterday... Oh, well.
What is Aminu's latest injury status? Clifford mentioned he had a setback in his recovery about a week, right? Any timetable for his return?

He is the reason out D is so good, and our offense is horrendous. If we dont now lean into this and tank like crazy, im done with this Mickey Mouse team.

We didn’t tank when it was actually worth it we will not tank now lol, this fantasy needs to rest already.
I agree that this perfectly sets up a trade for the summer, AG will now be forced to play PF almost exclusively and if I’m a betting man he breaks out of his slump and we see a break out performance.

He was trying to rehab and avoid surgery (which would end his season), before the setback. I haven't heard anything since but he just locked up shooting jump shots apparently. I don't hold out much hope he will be back soon, or that he will be very effective when he is.
