Chriss on waiver. No brainer pick?

Post#1 » by cedric76 » Tue Jan 7, 2020 8:24 am

The Golden State Warriors will convert Damion Lee's two-way contract and waive Marquese Chriss, league sources told Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Lee had run out of his allotted 45 days on his two-way deal. He is averaging 12. 5 points and 5.3 rebounds on the season.

Chriss signed a 1-year, $1.67 million deal with the Warriors in September.

Chriss averaged 7.3 points and 5.4 rebounds on the season.

A young Pf (22) with huge potential
6-foot-10 with a 7-foot wingspan, Chriss is a big man who moves like a guard.

Yeah, it's a no brainer. Like, you make this move if you have no brain.

LOL

He redeemed himself a little with the Warriors though, not the Phoenix mess he was, but got waived because Damion Lee is just a better player.

I'd take a flyer on him this season or like 2 years at max but that's it.

He is expiring too, so worst case he ll only be here few months

Very very very low risk pick

People tend to forget that he is only 22 and is coming from the phoenix mess

There's not a team that hasn't given up on Chriss rather fast. Dude is good athlete, but a bad basketball player who seems to be missing some of his marbles.

I was watching his progress this year...he seems a lot different-He was useless in PHO. I'm in. Reclamation projects are a way to take a jump (Fultz)...worst scenario, he keeps Amile Jefferson's seat warm.

Orlando needs a PF to make a playoff push. But this kid cannot shoot.

Jeff Green makes more sense. Or if his wrist is finally healed, Kenneth Faried.

Soo... safe to say there is no backup PF to pick? :)

I could see us giving Amile more opportunity.

I'd do it with the understanding that there is to be no playoff push this season, nor should there be.

He'd be perfect to try in a rebuilding year. Virtually no risk, very high reward.

Faried? Jeff Green? Seriously? So we can make that big push to the #8 playoff spot and get our pants pulled down in 4 games again?

Just **** rebuild the team.

I think we have enough players. MCW and Aminu will probably take Iwundu and Birch out of the rotation when they come back.

Why "again"? There were 5 games last year.

I haven't watched him this season and I see his numbers are up (on a very bad team), but he looked like one of the dumbest players in the league in previous seasons. His high turnover rate for limited minutes suggests he's still dumb. He's also a hot head. Four teams quickly giving up on him despite being a former 8th pick who isn't even 23 yet says a lot about him. Is there nobody else? I bet if given minutes Amile Jefferson could probably give us similar production without the baggage.

Jeff Green? Jeez. Who's next Drew Gooden?

Faried may be someone to take a look at.

Seems like he couldn't be worse than Aminu, right?
