Magic granted a 4.629M disabled player exception for Al-Farouq Aminu
Magic can acquire a player making up to 4.629M in a trade without sending anything back as long as they're on an expiring contract.
Or they can sign a player for the rest of the season for up to 4.629M.

Don't think this necessarily applies to Clark since he would be a minimum signing anyway.
I'm coming at this from a trade perspective. The Magic are in a better position to be a trade partner now with this exception than they were a few days ago.

Can we add a 2nd round pick or another player to the DPE in a trade?

Malik Beasley and Kyle Korver are on eligible deals and would help our backcourt. I doubt Beasley is someone they want to trade. Not sure about Korver.
Juan Hernangomez won’t excite anyone but he is a body to throw at the forward rotation. Honestly, I would rather scout the G-league.

Re: Magic granted a 4.629M disabled player exception for Al-Farouq Aminu
This screams Betrans.
- On an expiring
- We could send out minimum salaries to shore up difference
- Fits perfectly
We obviously would have to add our FRP, but if it’s protected in some manner I’m totally game. He slides in the starting unit to perfection. This is obviously with the intention that we’re buyers come deadline and want to make a push and not do anything too crazy.
Fultz
Fournier
Bertans
Gordon
Vucevic
Next season hope to resign on a decent deal and have our forward depth set. Gordon/Aminu - Isaac/Bertans and Okeke getting time between the two positions.

Dario is not a Free Agent and I don't think Phoenix is giving him away for free. The Suns most definitely won't give him away for scrubs either.

No.
But coupled trades are allowed. For example, a coupled trade could include the DPE for a player with the proviso of a second trade that is a 2nd round pick vs "something". In that later point, lots of stuff could be added.
Detroit's Cristian Wood could be an interesting target.
Trade one could be Thon Maker for the DPE. And trade 2 could be Orlando's 2020 first for Wood (the second does not get this done).
The Magic has now instant depth to make a push in the playoffs, with no real sacrifice.
The roster would be:
Fultz/Augustin/Carter-Williams
Fournier/Ross/Iwundu
Gordon/Clark/Frazier
Wood/Maker/Jefferson
Vučević/Bamba/Birch
There is balance and depth in that roster.
..

He's been a disappointment for them and I think he'll be a RFA this summer. 2nd round pick is possible.

Being the dude plays up to 30 minutes some games, I don't think the Suns are going to just give him away for any 2nd rounder being he is playing a role on that team.

19 mpg / 23% 3pt over the last 15 games. Suns are 11th in the west... if things don't improve by the deadline it is definitely possible they will cash in for a pick. I'm not sure we should even go for him... he seems hurt.

This only works if the Magic trade Dāvis Bertāns for Aminu. And then trade the DPE for "something else" as a coupled trade.

15 ppg with fantastic shooting. Wouldn't it be more likely the wizards will try to resign him? They only have two seasons to convince Beal to stay and very little money to do it.

They have suffered some injuries as well which has changed their rotation of late.
They are in an odd spot in the standing. On one hand, they are 7 games under .500 yet on the other they are still one 2 games behind the #8 spot in the west.
Do they push for the playoffs or punt on this season and try for one more good draft pick next to Ayton and Booker?
They may want to start selling pieces for $$ and tank soon.
