Magic had ‘internal’ interest in Dinwiddie at deadline

https://www.sny.tv/nets/news/could-nets-include-spencer-dinwiddie-in-a-magic-trade-package-for-aaron-gordon/312886568Some interesting quotes;
Some members of the Magic and Pistons, specifically, had internal interest in exploring trades for Dinwiddie prior to the trade deadline, per SNY sources.
Could a package including Dinwiddie have landed a player like Aaron Gordon from Orlando? ... If Brooklyn has interest in trading for Gordon this summer, the club will probably have significant competition. The Pacers are among the teams that had a degree of interest in pursuing a deal for Gordon before the deadline, per SNY sources.

Good sign for summer.
DInwiddie and sign and trade for Harris for Gordon.
Get it done.
Pacers don't really have anybody but Brogdon that interests me.
They have Turner that is dead salary given how much better Sabonis is.

If Gordon had play like he is now in January, brooklyn would have pulled the trigger on Gordon for dinwiddie + Harris
However it can't be done this summer as Harris is Expiring
And not sure spencer is what we need

Let's say Fournier opts out and the Magic do not resign Augustin, Birch or Iwundu, then this trade could make sense rotationally and still be within the salary cap. Harris is a very clear replacement over Iwundu, and that is value.
DInwiddie starts at SG, but can also play PG when Fultz goes to the bench. The main rotation could be:
Fultz/Carter-Williams/G-leagurer or vet FA
DInwiddie/Ross/Frazier
Isaac/Harris/draft-pick
Aminu/Okeke/Clark
Vučević/Bamba/vet FA

You can't have a trade involving a sign and trade + a player under contract
So this csnt be done

ag keeps playing like last 15 games magic better not trade him..he is magic best 2 way player not close...
for magic first maybe..he is just ross that plays 1 and 2 as ross plays 2 and 3...yes ross has been bad this yr yet he still has same % as dinwiddie
better yet a healthy aminu and 2 -2nds they could use a guy like that with Durant back wont be many shots for dinwiddlie
he could get salty

I do quite like the idea of a Dinwiddie/Fultz backcourt.
We would need to add shooting at the 3 to balance the lineup though, which is why the deal is far better for us if Harris is included (can we S & T him into the deal over summer?) IMO.
I like the starting 5 of Fultz/Dinwiddie/Harris/JI/Vuc but wouldn't feel that comfortable with Aminu or Okeke starting at the 3 for spacing reasons.
There's enough creation in the backcourt to be able to move Vuc out for Bamba if he keeps improving too (Bamba's shooting and rim protection will fit very well with that lineup).

I think Fultz/ Dinwiddie backcourt is as bad offensively as defensively. I can only see Spencer going from the bench or replacing Fultz in the starting lineup. I like Levert as small forward a lot more fit wise. Gordon is starting to raise his value, posssibly its the most important thing left this season.

I believe it is allowed if broken to two-separate trades (that are required to be linked). For example: Gordon for DInwiddie as trade 1 and Harris for the right to swap 2nd round picks as trade 2.

Not surprised. Last year, Woj did say that we had interest in acquiring Spencer/DLo.

isnt that what Fournier is criticized about. AG scored 25 and Collins scored 26. He gave up more than he scored?

You don't have any interest in Lamb? I see four guys from those two teams that could work for me, Dinwiddie, Levert, Brogdon, and Lamb.

Is he too much like Ross? Comes in,really doesn't do anything else but shoot?

Yeah I can see that, although he played well when Dipo was out. With a torn ACL, we'd need a decent kicker thrown in the deal. Plus, he's only making 10M as well, another contract would have to be added to match, like McDermott. He's the weakest of the four, I agree.

No, would love to get Beal, I was just commenting on the two teams in the article, Pacers and Nets.

Edit: I should have read the full article before commenting, Beal is mentioned. I went off of Glyde's clips.

I can’t speak for others but no, this is not what I criticize Evan for ...
But to address your stat ... Outside of Isaac we live by team defense more than individual lockdowns. So such comparisons for anyone on the roster don’t mean much for me.

but isnt team defense one of the issues with AG. that his strength is individual defense not team defense.

I have literally never seen this mentioned in the years I’ve been on this board.
The knock on AG is always his inefficiency and inconsistent shooting from three. I get not being on the bandwagon for most of our guys, but stuff like this is a little much.
