Joe you're not getting it... He's making decisions for the country through a narrow personal view of how he feels rather than objective fact based outliers. Like yesterday he defunded WHO for the reason the organization made him look bad.

Even if you add the supposed political jargon that "China has them in their pocket". You're stopping funding for a group that it's main purpose is to help in the fight of the virus NOW. Also in future instances try to help in fights for other potential severe illnesses that might surface around the world.

If he wants to defund the group do it AFTER this thing blows over. Then, put more focus on the programs that he previously defunded or start a new world health organization. But seeing how he doesn't have hindsight or the ability to think into the future it's unlikely he'll do either of those.

Watching this White house press conference today, This is by far the best press conference since the coronavirus outbreak started in the USA. They mentioned each state has to pass 14 days before entering phase 1, Than have to pass another 14 days to go from phase 1 to 2, Than need to pass another 14 days to go from phase 2 to 3 and finally need to pass another 14 days to go from phase 3 to fully going back to normal pre-coronavirus.

I think we can make a case that Florida has done well enough the past 14 days including today, That we should be allowed to enter phase 1.

Some of these states tomorrow might actually clear all 3 phases and could de declared "fully back to normal" pre-coronavirus
(Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Montana, Idaho, North Dakoka, South Dakota, Wyoming)

Most states tomorrow should in be at least phase 1 hopefully Florida.

New York and New Jersey are not allowed to enter phase 1.

If Florida is in phase 1 tomorrow, We would need 45 straight days with no issue/problem with a rebound to get back to pre-coronavirus. This would be the start of June at the earliest for Florida potentially. It gives Florida and other states plenty of time to get your states under control before football starts in August/September.

I agree, it was the best I've seen as well. It was more focused, better tone and temperament. I'm still skeptical of the information, but at least it resembled some sort of a plan.

I think he is saying that there is cultural context to certain phrases. While it's completely legal to say nasty things, or racist things...there are consequences that you can't predict. I think it's stupid when people physically assault another person because of words. But nevertheless, it exists. I don't know enough about spine doc to know what his sensitivies may be, but we all have them.

I would also like to. Shout out thanks to tide and spinedoc for that informative exchange. Tide I agree with you that we have domestic needs for the money that we shell out to foreign countries and organizations. For me, WHO would be behind the money we throw at Israel, Pakistan and other countries. My taxes should support my compatriots and my country. I also think we spend insanely too much money on defense. And yet our vets are neglected.

I would agree with spinedoc that now is not the time for that action. That can be done after things clear up a bit.

To the Portuguese magic bro, that's very humble of your government and political parties to work in unison. I think that is a sentiment many of us here have espoused. Health over politics. But we are too divided and poorly led to accomplish that. At least in Florida we have not been led properly by the President or the Governor.

Many in the Republican party seem to value money over safety. It's not a position I would want to be in but our leaders should protect our physical welfare first and foremost. Isn't that why we spend the boatloads of money on defense? But there are diminishing returns for being proactive trying to stem this virus. If you do the most you can do, you'll have the least amount of results to show for it. Because the less people die, the more people will scream about reopening and after that how it was never a big deal and got blown out of proportion. But if you don't act in a timely manner, many people will die.
