Anyone here has news which if our players doesnt wanna go in the bubble to play?

I believe it was just Aminu who was on that Zoom call from the Magic that is willing to sit out.

Heh. He managed to turn a torn meniscus into a season-ending injury and now this. I'm beginning to think that he just wants to get paid and isn't too concerned with actually playing basketball.

I'd give far more credence to the concerns of these players if this movement wasn't being driven by Kyrie Irving. As it is, it smells a little rancid.

Aminu? Why am I not surprised.. 10m a year, already injured so he won't play anyway, vet, just got paid... yeah..

Orlando must move on from Aminu. Even if he is just "filler: in a Gordon or Fournier trade, he has got to go.

First, I have to agree with DRSD, Aminu was a waste of a signing. Even when he was playing he didn’t move the needle for us, at all. An effort guy with a low motor. Not a good combo. He needs to be moved when we move Fournier, Gordon or whoever.

Secondly, as far as the season resuming, I’ll be glad to see games again and I think most guys want to play. Kyrie Irving is latching onto the social injustices thing in the most completely wrong way. He’s got a huge forum to help social justice by playing on camera. Protestors don’t stay out 24/7, so his argument holds very little water. Kyrie is no leader anyway, every team he plays on improved once he left. So I honestly just think he’s being a drama queen. Stephen A Smith and several other media sources say essentially the same thing.

As for Dwight Howard, he’s swayed with the wind and is probably the dumbest pro athlete in the history of the world. He goes from Mr. Christian to playing around with porno rats to now being an outspoken advocate for social justice? Not buying it. Leave the advocacy to guys like LeBron, who have the leadership skills and the intellect to effectively champion such an important cause.
You look confused...let me fill you in.

I always thought the Aminu signing was a sign of a trade (likely AG) and still might be. His career performance is not reflective of his very short time with us. Same goes for Jeff Green and Ibaka...take a shot of them any time other than ORL and they were exactly what we needed (Biyombo I can't defend-he was good for a week). Dumping Aminu is not something I'd resist but also not a high priority for me.

Completely agree. A lot of people are really trying to make a case that Orlando is extremely unsafe as well which is bizarre to me.

I really hope it doesn't restart so we can start from fresh in October 2020.

This restart is crazy, it ll effect next season too, 2020/2021 is expected to start after Xmas, it s ridiculous, and for what????? Money only

MONEY is actually the biggest and most important reason for those all involved to resume the season ASAP.

Besides, what do you mean or what is the advantage for you to scrap the season and start in October? Corona will still be around, a 100% sure-fire vaccine will still not be available , etc etc..

To have a normal season 2020 /2021

Let's scrap 2019/2020

Go on with the draft and fa and move on

Noone wants to resume this season

No chance 2020/21 is 'normal' without a vaccine.

This resumption and the experiment in Orlando will very much inform what next year looks like - if I had to guess I would expect them to hold regional bubbles/campuses a bit like the NCAA tournament. Unless something drastically changes on the medical side I can't see fans in packed arenas as soon as December.

I also disagree that no-one wants to resume this season. There are a lot of people who stand to lose a lot of money without the resumption, including players, owners, media members etc. The amount of revenue generated at the bubble will directly inform the salary cap for next year too so there are a lot of long-term financial benefits for a lot of people with influence.

They've already said next season will probably be without fans. Why not experiment now when you only have a short season?

Because this title will have no value, players have not been able to practice for over 3 months, it s risking their health for nothing.

If season resume, we ll see many players go down with injuries.

As for 2020/2021 season, lets start as usual (oct) without fan if they decide it s best.

Resuming this season is dumb and pointless.

Give the title to Mil and start the draft and forget about this terrible 2019/2020 season

So now = unsafe. A few months from now will = safe?

This will at least help us gauge how practical the Disney/no fans set up will be.

This thing seems so tone deaf to me, not because of the protests, but because of the coronavirus. The protests by themselves wouldn't shut down games, in fact the opposite, it would help shine a light to them as it did with Eric Garner. I don't understand Kyrie's point. Florida just hit a new high in cases at nearly 4,000 in one day. There is no such thing as a bubble that the players will be in, not in Florida anyway. They would be better off going to Montana or somewhere else remote. People will violate the policy of this guaranteed. I'm sure people will be coming in and out on the sly, and as soon as one positive test shows up it will throw the whole thing into chaos. This championship will have little to no meaning anyway. The message it sends is so willfully ignorant as well. I was spooked when the best case scenario was 60K deaths by August not long ago, now we are at 120K in mid June and rising rapidly. History will judge us as being a very selfish and dumb people during this crisis. I've been telling my friends the same thing with regard to our fantasy football season. It may start on time, but doubtful we'll have anywhere near a full season, same goes for the nba. But, I said the same thing about movie theaters as well, and AMC is just now mandating masks, let alone even being open in the first place. All of it seems so insane to me.

Because at the end of the day, I think there are more people that are just desperate to gain normalcy back to their lives and damn the consequences.

Sorry but we have more chance i winning the NBA title this year over having a normal 2020 season opening.

And I think more players than you think wants to resume this season. For every Kyrie thats .. I duuno.. making 20m a year? There are more Khem Birch that needs that 1m a year to be paid in full. For every Dwight that has career earning of around 300m, there are more rookies, minimum, vet deal players that hasn't made 10m in their entire career.

Let's not forget the money that will be earned by the league, teams and etc that can pay the support of everyone connected.

LOL but you get what I am saying. Both chances are in the 1% range probably. No way a normal 2020 season opening would be normal.

Magic winning a title in 2020 = stars aligned, all superstars sit out, key injuries to role players, All our players stayed in shape while the rest of the league became fat and stoned etc etc

Normal 2020 start = magically corona gone by November/December or 100% sure-fire vaccine works and 100% of those involved ( players, team personnel, fans, etc ) would get the vaccine because it has already been distributed to everyone.

Last team not to get Covid-19 wins the championship. With the numbers we're seeing the bubble isn't going to do nothing. They won't even make it through training camp without multiple positives. Going to be crazy.
