Hope to be wrong, but I just don't think they are desperate enough yet. Maybe next offseason.

Yep, then when the team makes a 4 game run next season I suddenly find myself questioning belief again...

Maybe Fultz could be this good all the time??

Gordon has finally turned a corner! This 67% 3pt rate over 3 games is totally sustainable.

How come we seem to win more games when Fournier goes down...

I just don't know how much those narratives excite me anymore though. Talking **** on this board is far more engaging and entertaining than the product on the court.

If the Cavs are playing ball I would probably say yes and focus #15 on a SG / wing to fully round out a backcourt rebuild.

Offseason Trade Idea for Every NBA Team
https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2907887-1-offseason-trade-idea-for-every-nba-team

Orlando Magic Receive: G Darius Garland

Cleveland Cavaliers Receive: C Mo Bamba

Bamba may never get proper minutes behind Nikola Vucevic, which is a shame considering the defensive potential the 7-footer and 2018 No. 6 pick brings.

The Cavaliers have a similar dilemma with their own lottery picks, as a Garland-Collin Sexton backcourt is extremely undersized. They need to carve out more minutes for Kevin Porter Jr., who could end up being the best of the three, as well.

This is where a Garland-Bamba swap makes sense.

Garland would give the Magic a backcourt partner for Markelle Fultz, one who's just 20 years old. Able to play on or off the Ball, Garland made strides as a scorer and passer as the season went on, resulting in a 39.2 percent success rate on his catch-and-shoot threes, per NBA.com.

Tristan Thompson is set to become a free agent, and Andre Drummond (assuming he picks up his player option) will be free to sign anywhere in 2021. Bamba would give the Cavs center depth, and strong play by the 22-year-old may help prevent Cleveland from making a monster offer to Drummond in free agency.

If we are going tank again I'd rather do it for a chance at that Bates kid in what 2022? He looks legit.

I think GS or Minny would be down to trade 1 or 2. It's a weakass draft and I want no part of the Ball family. Toppin or Edwards or Wiseman would at least inject some excitement in my veins. But who knows if we have what they want or even if we want to do that.

If we could upgrade Evan to a 20 ppg or over off guard we would really take off. I just don't know if there are any available. Mitchell, Beal, Booker would set us over the top but none of that is happening. McCollum might be our best bet but doubt that happens. I'd be cool with Wiggins as well but might cost us too much.

My hope is Denver gets bounced tonight and we can persuade them to let MPJ loose to us. It still blows my mind we didn't take a chance on him that year at 6. Dude had number pick talent which he is starting to show and we had AG, Issac could have afforded him time he need like we are doing with Okeke who doesn't have near that amount of talent.

I think AG for MPJ makes both teams so much better. Denver has their 2 go to players in Jokic and Murray. They need defensive help. AG provides that plus he will know his role as the 3rd/4th option. MPJ gets let the F loose in Orlando. We finally get a wing who can be a go to scorer. When Issac gets healthy he will make up for any defensive liabilities Porter has. Porter would be so ideal.

But otherwise I am out of ideas lol

Lol I just saw what Porter said the game 4. Devil yes. Hope he plays bad and they get bounced tonight. I love when a plan comes together. What he said sounds like a Alpha scorer to me.

Fournier is going to get extended. Vuc isn't going anywhere. Management is fine with treadmilling between the 6-8 seed. That's the sad reality. JI, Fultz and Gordon are exciting players that simply aren't corner stones. Team has upside, but that upside is like a 5 seed in a weak east.

Hey, just wondering if I could get some insight on Aaron Gordon. How is his defense on the perimeter against guards? Like if Denver wanted go big with a starting lineup of Murray/Gordon/MPJ/Grant/Jokic....would he be able to lock down or at least slow down some of the premiere guards( Dame, Mitchell, CP3, PG-13 etc.). Been looking for some of his defensive highlights on Youtube but can't find any.

How do you figure landing AG into that lineup without giving up anything? Are you implying Gary Harris for AG straight up is an option?

This is a poor trade for Orlando balance wise. The Magic need a 2-guard, not a PG. And Portland has proved that a two PG backcourt does not work. For me the other Magic trade makes more balance:
Washington Wizards Receive: C Nikola Vucevic, 2020 No. 15 overall pick

Orlando Magic Receive: 2020 No. 9 overall pick, C Thomas Bryant, SF Troy Brown Jr., SG Jerome Robinson, PG Ish Smith

At #9 the Magic could nab the 3-D SG: Devin Vassell. He has a role as a starter in a roster that has Fultz and Isaac as certain starters. And if Bamba is the future, then why not. The rest of the pieces fill out the Magic bench..

The 2020/21 Magic would start as:
Fultz/Smith
Fournier/Ross/Robinson/Vassell
Gordon/Brown/Ennis
Aminu/Okeke
Bamba/Bryant/Birch

Resign Carter-Williams, and PBO Weltman's job would basically be finished for the off-season.

?? Your 2020/21 Orlando Magic ??
Fultz/Smith/Carter-Williams
Fournier/Ross/Robinson/Vassell
Gordon/Brown/Ennis
Aminu/Okeke
Bamba/Bryant/Birch

That is a very balanced roster that might, maybe win 41 games. And it has assets to move towards future off-seasons. Vassell will struggle to get minutes without a shift of Ross or Robinson, but I am ok with that for his rookie season.

Ugh ... Why bother?

Ok, I’ll help.

Bamba is a backup who has proven little so far. We aren’t getting a star starter for him. This is a swap for depth.

Both DJ and MCW are free agents and we need a backup PG behind Fultz. With Isaac out next season is a lost cause. Why not invest time in a young player rather than spin the wheels on another PG vet?

I dont know if Garland is good enough. He doesnt look like Weltman guy. Small, underwhelming passer. I think i would rather risk with Bamba.

Second trade is selling low on Vucevic. I like Troy Brown but i wouldnt make him a centerpiece of Vucevic trade.
Fultz/ Fournier/Gordon/Aminu/ Bamba is so deprived of ball handling, shooting and passing that we would be lucky to win 30 imo.

Great time to move Vuc if that's what the FO wants to do. Coming off a great playoffs, one year removed from AS, but also right when we're seeing the "rebirth of the Big" with Jokic and AD.

Not saying I'd be rushing to trade him after what he showed against the Bucks, but if the haul was good and knowing the timing is great....

Could PG13 be had on the cheap following his recent performance and teammates reactions?

AG/TRoss for PG13/Mann?

if you trading Vuc ( Evan, Gordon ,Ross or any other player) your goal should be land unprotected, or not heavily protected 2021 and 2022 picks. Why? Well 2021 draft is allegedly great and in 2022 we finally get rid of one and done crap so it's objective to expect influx of high quality players from both college and highschool.

That's closest thing you can get to logical rebuild.

Has that been confirmed, that 2022 will be the famous "double draft"?

I love Ross but you cant pass a star of PG caliber for that price. Everyone is making fun of him now but he is still a two way player. 41% from 3 at 8 attempts per game, great defensive player. Maybe he needs more family setting after all those mercenary years ?
Fultz / Fournier/ George/ Aminu/ Vucevic.
Dj/ MCW/ Bane*/ Okeke/ Bamba.

Seems legit to me. Only thing that could stop me is medical report on his shoulder. I would be shocked if Clippers did it without our pick though. ( but i dont know how bad chemistry is there)

If we indeed trade away Vuc this offseason, do you guys think that we need to bring back Dwight Howard? He is trying to save his career now in LAL with less than 2M one year contract. His defensive presence is still there. He could be a great piece to add when Bamba could sneak into the rotation as a solid back up C

If we trade Vuc, it is a sign that we will rebuild, so what's the point of bringing D12? He is such a bad influence and old.

We've basically been rebuilding his whole career. That's how much he moves the needle towards winning. If you just had a defensive presence that can guard the perimeter we'd win just as much.

Yea because it's such an objective task to expect one player to change whole outlook of your team while he never played with anybody close to 3rd option on contender, let alone somebody better than him.

Kevin Love, Towns, D'angelo Russell , Booker , Cousins were and still are all above average nba players who never did anything on their own. Because it takes more than 1 great player to achive team sucess.
For crying out loud, Anthony Davis after 7 years of being solo star, played in playoffs -twice. While in same time being one of the best nba players.

"That's how Davis moves the needle " ?

It's 5 on 5 sport with bench. Vuc is above average player. That's something you can't say about any teammate he ever played with in last 7 years.
I don't mind trade him, but this downtalking and blaming him for complete lack of idea how to do proper rebuild is laughable.
IF anything his existence saved franchise from being laughing stock of NBA, without him, team would hit 8 years and counting without playoffs. On East. Spoiler alert. it would be longest lasting drought on East.
