I do not agree. Howard is a certain first-ballot Hall of Famer. He simply did to much over such a long-period of time.
8× NBA All-Star
5× All-NBA First Team
All-NBA Second Team
2× All-NBA Third Team
(That's 8 total All0-NBA awards)
3× NBA Defensive Player of the Year
4× NBA All-Defensive First Team
NBA All-Defensive Second Team
NBA All-Rookie First Team
5× NBA rebounding leader
2× NBA blocks leader
And this other stuff:
NBA Slam Dunk Contest champion
Naismith Prep Player of the Year
McDonald's All-American Game Co-MVP
First-team Parade All-American
Mr. Georgia Basketball
He was a nobody on that team. That's all that matters to me.
I don't agree here either.
He played in 69 of 71 possible regular season games and was a 7 / 7 player in those.
He played in 18 playoff games, starting 7, where he was at 5.8/4.6.
These are the numbers of "rotational player". This is more than "scrub" stats.
What I will agree on is that Howard had no consequential stat-line in any of the six Finals games.
