I’m a bit disappointed to be honest.
- Ennis played sneaky well for us.
- With Isaac out his role on the team is more valuable.
- $2.1M doesn’t help us. He is more valuable than that ... which he obviously knows and thus opted out.

I may be in the minority here, but I'm totally on board with Iwundu taking on a bigger role next year at the 3.

James Ennis was cheap, but he played like your old uncle. This move is helpful. Starting today off with some good news!
There should be some nice minutes for Chuma to make a run for ROY.

I am torn on this one.
There were times I despised him and times I was really happy with what he gave.
I do like that it removes a potential roadblock to Chuma seeing the minutes he needs to get this year.

I would've liked for him to accept it. But now that he didn't, I hope we don't try to re-sign him for more money. I personally loved Iwundu as a starter anyway. There's a possibility for Chuma as well.

Right. My comment above about being disappointed was with respect to having him on a short minimum deal. That is good value.
Resigning him for a long larger deal would be a mistake.
It is what is it now. Time to let Chuma and the other young forwards grow.

Resigning him for more would be misery.
I'm glad we have a secod rounder who has panned out in Iwundu, but he's destined to be a bench player (spot starter in case of injury), so I'm hoping Chuma (or maybe we draft a SF) gets the chance to play at least 20+ minutes per game.

I just pray we dont re-sign him
I barely liked him at 2.1.....giving him more would be a mistake (but one that this FO will probably make). Hes a highly replaceable role guy who is already 30 and isnt going to get much better. Ir rather those minutes go to Wes and chuma

Good. He's done us a favor.
It's crazy to me that Weltman talks about how deep our roster is when Philadelphia traded for Burks and Robinson to get Ennis out of their rotation. We give up an inconsequential pick to acquire Ennis and immediately slot him into our starting lineup. Yeah. We have a deep roster.
He never should've been playing over Iwundu or Frazier. Why even draft these guys when you are going to give Clifford someone like Ennis? He isn't going to play your draft picks if you give him a 30 year old journeyman that says, " yes, sir!" Coaches don't want to teach if they don't have to.

James Ennis did a good job for The Magic.
It's still possible he returns but I think he is exploring his options. He likely gets a minimum deal again.
All in all, it was a good acquisition for a pick that turned out to be #58 and probably would have been sold for cash.

It's fine. Win-win for both sides, he gets a chance to play for bigger bucks ona team he likes and we get more mins for our secret rookie in Okeke

I wish he had accepted it. He's a fresh dose of toughness. But hopefully he gets a decent deal somewhere.

Iwundu had a lot of chances, he just couldn't get it done. Frazier can't even crack the lineup, so it's not like our HC is playing Ennis instead of them, Ennis was brought because of THEM as they couldn't play well. That's very different, IMO.
Totally expected him to opt-out and I am fine with bringing him in a 2-year deal or so.

I suspect he is looking for a multi-year deal. So: if Orlando offered 3 years at 8M total (which is LLE-levle money), I think he would go for that.

Ennis is the type of player an overly capped out contender wants for the deep bench. And why not go to LA or SanFran?
