Welcome to The Magic Cole Anthony.

He was #18 on my Big Board.

The big bummer for me tonight is I knew the three guys I wanted Tyrese Halliburton, Devin Vassell and Kira Lewis Jr. would be gone right before The Magic picked and they were 11-13. This seems to happen every year (2018 with Trae Young and in 2019 with Tyler Herro).

Then, Boston picked the next guy on my big board Aaron Nesmith at #14.

I had RJ Hampton, Josh Green, Tyrese Maxey, Tyrell Terry and Saddiq Bey ahead of him.

I'm not against Cole Anthony especially after my Big 3 above were not available. Hopefully, he is a better player than he was in College an reaches his full potential.

One thing that has been criticize is that offensive production has been low for this team. Although I didn't have Cole World on my list of players on my Magic Mock Draft, he does bring a scorer's mentality to a team that needs every bit of it. Not to say he's the solution to all of this team's problems. It's a start in the right direction. I wish the Magic didn't trade the other pick as they could've draft more on offense. Otherwise, let's see what Cole World is all about. Welcome to Orlando.

Greg Anthony and Brian Grant were teammates in Portland when Cole was conceived.

I’m not saying Cole isn’t Greg’s son....but he might wanna take a DNA test just to make sure.

I had to endure like 5 years of Jameer hate from here and a few people irl just to see us draft another Jameer.

So I am happy to take that lesson forward. 1) This board will turn on him in 6 years, even if he lands an All Star appearance or two. Same as Jameer. 2) Any injury he has, especially for a critical playoffs, will only intensify this ‘new Jameer’ hate.

I hope he blows up big time and leaves ORL. I’ll love him, but we’re not the fanbase for him (outside of basic fans).

Seems like a great kid from a great family. I'll save my judgment on his play until I see him on the court this season. What I saw in College (though I admit it was a bad UNC team) did not sell me at all. HS careers don't get me excited either unless it was followed by a great college one.

I will say that he is one of the biggest boom or bust types in this class. It's better than a safe non-offensive wing but it's also not a player that instills a lot of confidence in me.

Time will tell. He has my support.

I'm just going full blind homer mode and jumping on.

As always, I try to focus frustration appropriately.

The draft played out how it did and we may have missed on prospects I wanted due to a lack of aggression from management. Any frustration I have is owed to them and them alone.

Cole Anthony is the newest member of the Orlando Magic and we have high hopes for him! His offensive spark will be very welcome on stale roster.

There's also at least 3 songs by J Cole that I like ( Work out, Can't get enough and no role Modelz)

Hope he just has a bad year in college and maybe we got lucky he fell to us because of his injury.

Not overly excited about it but that's because the magic have not given us reasons to get excited in years

I'm cool with it. To me at #15 him and rj hampton where the most upside picks you could make and they went with the upside and potential.

This team is in desperate need of talent and players that can out the ball in the bucket. Anthony has the it factor to take over games and play as an alpha. If that hurts him in the long run we will find out but why not take the risk?

Cole world, he is a hooper hooper, with all of our athletic long theoretical scorers it was time to get a flat out bucket getter !

We needed a guy who has a scorers mentality that won’t crap his pants when the playoffs come around, I see Cole as that.

Really confident for better or for worst, here’s hoping for best !
