He's interesting actually.

He went from CEGEP to the pros which is basically community college (had college offers from big named schools) but decided to declare for the draft.

Karim Mané

-Canadian, but born in Senegal
-6'6 shooting guard with a 6'11 wingspan, good athlete
-shows potential in being able to create his own offense on all three levels
-can create for others as a secondary ball handler
-good effort on defense and on the boards

-streaky, inconsistent shooter but mechanics apparently decent.
-plays kind of out of control with poor decision making
-not a great finisher/drawer of fouls
-did not play NCAA ball (played for Vanier College in Canada), so untested against the usual level of competition, though did play in the u19 world championship for Canada (averaging 12,4 and 3)

They were quite high on him on the Draft subforum, so I took a brief peek.

Raw as hell. Kind of clumsy looking in fact. High effort. That's all I remember as I didn't see much point in watching more!

Had the Magic stayed at 45 and picked Mané, no one would have batted an eye IMO.

This is the exact kind of developmental prospect you want to see if you can smooth out the rough edges on.

How old is he? Wouldn't mind trying out a young and unknown talent and seeing what he's got.

He's 20. Turns 21 in May. Seems worth taking a flyer on at least.

Thanks for the info! I like this move as a low risk, low cost move. But, he'll likely only be a Lakeland player for the year. So hoping we can sign one more player to either spot start at SF, or shore up our bench besides Bacon.

Wait what.... this is one of the top guys i was hoping for in the 2nd round before the draft (didnt expect so many good players to drop)

So we'll have Gucci Mané and Vucci Mane

Karim Mane seems like a talented young player, not a bad prospect at all. Impressive measures for a guard.
