Trade idea: Zach Lavine to Orlando

What is the chance Orlando could/will trade for Zach Lavine?
Seems a move would boost scoring and maybe prevent Orlando from yet another year of mediocracy, exiting quickly in the first round of the playoffs, and missing out, again, on a lottery pick.
Could Orlando package Fournier, a big man, and a first round draft pick?

I dont know what is the chance but i cant see the reason. Classic shortsighted, ceiling lowering move. I compared both players before and outside volume scoring and isolation Fournier is better. Evan is a much better fit next to our young core. Do you really believe Zach leads us any closer to contention ?
Using any future assets on Lavine would guide us to a place you want to avoid, mediocracy.

Understood!
Zaymon, if you were the GM, what move would you make to significantly improve the Team, this year?

Another way is to ask if Fournier's expiring, Birch and a #16 2021 pick is worth LaVine.
It is not that unbalanced. But it would mean that Orlando has their SG of the future, and prohibits the Magic from going after a more established player.
I think a larger package that includes Aminu instead of Birch might be more attractive.
Perhaps Fournier, Aminu and a 2021 and 2023 first (both lottery protected) for Lavine and Young.
Orlando becomes:
Fultz/Carter-Williams/Anthony/Bone
LaVine/Ross/Bacon/Mané
Gordon/Ennis
Young/Okeke/Clark
Vučević/Bamba/Birch
I like that team more than the current Magic depth chart.
..

I think I would do that move with the hopes that it would make us better this year, and with Isaac's return, we would still have a decent chance for a personnel upgrade next year.
The package that OP suggests of Fournier + a first seems like an obvious yes for us.

Personally i dont get the Lavine over Fournier arguments.
Lavine (6'6, 181lb) Fournier (6'7, 205 lb)
Points per game----------- 25.5 ---- 18.8
Usage %--------------------- 31.7 ---- 24.2
Assists/ turnovers--------- 4.2/3.4 ---- 3.2/2.0
Passes made--------------- 39.4 ---- 25.3
Pick and roll ball handler: 0.89 ppp ---- 0.95 ppp
Transition------------------- 1.18 ppp ---- 1.20 ppp
Spot up---------------------- 0.95 ppp ---- 1.17 ppp
Off Screen------------------- 0.98 ppp ---- 1.10 ppp
Hand off--------------------- 0.96 ppp ---- 1.02 ppp
Drive fg%-------------------- 45.4 ---- 50.4
Pull up fg%------------------ 35.0 ---- 41.4
FTrate----------------------- 0.279 ---- 0.236
So basically case for Lavine is volume, ball moving and free throw rate. Case for Fournier is size, passing, decision making, ball handling, shooting, shot creation, finishing.
Here is the comparison i made earlier. What kind of frp would you like to include ?
Personally i like our flexibility. We can still adjust our course at the deadline. If we are to make a trade i would deal Gordon first.

Agree about dealing AG before Fournier, or package them together in a trade for Blake Griffin if Detroit trys to move him

I personally don't like Lavine's defense. If we traded AG for him, we'd probably be a worse team. Griffin is playing on one leg and is counting the minutes until his contract is up so he can retire.

I like Zach Lavine as a player, and he’s certainly a better long term prospect than Fournier, but I’m not sure the Magic are that much better with him as currently constructed. Obviously scoring in the backcourt is the biggest thing he brings. We need that, but I still think Vucevic is the teams best player in that scenario.

Evan >> lavine
Cliff would hate his defense

ORLANDO would never do that, even if you remove Mo
Lavine is SOOOOO overrated, people need to stop play 2K and should start watching games

Lavine, Vooch and Ross would feast on opponents defense.

There was a lot of unrest in CHI last season, particularly with Lavine, Lauri, and coach...new coach and FO - have things settled down?
