Should Orlando make a trade offer for James Harden?

Post#1 » by MasterGMer » Fri Dec 18, 2020 8:36 pm

Houston is expanding its trade talks for James Harden. I don't know whether Magic is one of them. If not, should Magic make a trade offer for James Harden?

I know James Harden is going to have 2 years left on his contract and the 3rd year is player option. Should Magic pair him along with Vuc?

Does that make Magic the Eastern Conference contender? Harden, Vuc and Fultz, plus AG.

If the trade is reasonable, do you think Magic needs to make the bold move to acquire a superstar like Harden?

I think Houston wants Young Players and draft picks. I know it is a gamble. But to avoid mediocrity, I think we need to make the risky move

Just a personal opinion. And season is 4 days away, I think I want some craziness since YoutubeTV won’t carry Fox Sports Florida

I would, but agree with BMP, not sure we have enough. I wouldn't trade the farm either.
I'd do Fultz, Evan & Chief and an unprotected 2021 pick and the 2 seconds we just picked up.
Play Cole next to Harden (who will have the ball, so no need for Fultz)
Harden should get open looks for the rest of the team.

Cole
Harden
Ennis(J.I. next year)
AG
Vuc
I could live with watching this for a couple years.

Magic have most important assets Rockets should be after: picks, young players and expiring contract. A deal around Fournier, AG, Bamba and unprotected 1st round pick is a offer worth considering.

I think either Isaac or AG would be included. They may want Vuc too

That is what they would want. But I wouldn't do it. My offer is my offer, that is it.

Why would Orlando pay Harden 250M over 5 years to NOT win a title?

Fultz + Gordon + Bamba + picks thats as far as i can go. I dont know if i want Harden around our young guys and i doubt we are real contender without Isaac .

Harden/Fournier/Ennis/Aminu/Vucevic
Anthony/MCW/Ross/Okeke/Birch

I doubt Harden wants to play with 2 rookies and Isaac will have to shake a lot of rust next year.

Harden/Fournier/Isaac/Aminu/Vucevic with Anthony, Ross, Okeke from the bench could be title contender.
My money is on Banchero going number 1 !

What about this trade:

Isaac + Fultz + Aminu and Bamba, plus picks

for

James Harden?

Could we become Eastern Conference Contender with this trade?

Harden, Fournier, Dwayne Bacon, AG and Vuc

I think with a former NO. 1 pick and 2 top 10 picks, that is youth and draft picks. Could this entice Houston?

We'd be paying players that much no matter how it's split and most likely NOT winning a title.
Why not have some entertainment?

We don't owe Houston a fair deal. They F'd it up with Harden.
No way I'd give them J.I. or Multiple 1st rounders.

So between Vuc and Isaac, you'd rather give up Vuc and keep Isaac?

What is the ceiling of Isaac? All Star? Super Star? Defensive first team? I don't know...

But what I know is that Vuc is an all-star in his good years and one of the best Center in the league

Nope, my proposal was Evan, Fultz, Chief and unprotected 2021 1st, and the 2 second rounders we just got.
They get a young player and a draft pick, plus Evan's expiring. Never mentioned Vuc.

Houston will want more. PHI offered them Ben Simmons and Miami offered Tyler Herro. They are way better than Fultz. I think in order to entice Houston, we may need to give up either Vuc or Isaac

I’d stay the hell away from James Harden. He’s the poster boy of what’s wrong with pro sports. Puts up great numbers, could care less about his team, irresponsible and a grenade full of drama. The guy isn’t a winner and makes Evan Fournier look like Magic Johnson in regards to being a team player. The Magic would win games but Harden would jump on the first plane out of town once his contract expired. I’d rather see a deep, sustained team built here instead.
You look confused...let me fill you in.

Unprotected firsts don't mean as much if Harden is on the team.

They can get a young star + additional players or picks with Harden. Simmons, Jamal Murray, Brandon Ingram types.
