Hi Guys

As you must know by now, I think Evan is the perfect SG next to Fultz and wanted to resign him

However,I ve just watched his latest interview on a french TV show and he basically said that if a contender offers him a decent contract this summer he ll leave us

I know some of you will be happy, but Evan is a true PRO, can shot the 3 and plays decent D, this sucks

What you get for an expiring player? Payton 2nd rounders so we could trade them for cash ?

This is glorious news, but what's funny is that even Fournier admits this team is not a contender.

I think 100% of people know that we r not contender at the present time, we know that, ownership knows that, management knows that, players know that.

We r a playoff team with a bright future (when healthy)

Not sure how recent it is, but this was reportedby Robbins prior to the season that Evan wants to play for a contender.

And rightfully so, I think he will fit a better role in a contender. His game has limitations, but would really fit well as a role player.

We better have replacement for him though, cause him leaving will really sting our offense.

The Magic can't afford him. They'll probably draft a SG and sign one with the MLE. They could possibly trade AG for a SG since we have JI coming back.

We can be a good team without him. MCW and Bacon just aren't really average players.

We already have our pg (fultz), pf(JI) and C (vuc and mo)

Hopefully chuma can be our sf

Now we need to package AG and Evan for a SG and SF

We should try a swap of AG for Levert.Levert stock is low atm but given role pt and shots he can ball.

Makes sense for him to leave. We have glut of PF's on our hand that need to be resolved and a glaring hole at SF. Real problem IMO is that we couldn't solve starting PG spot for 8 years, ever since we let Jameer go. We've been playing non-shooters at that position like in '80s.

I could see Cile and Fultz starting next year but I dont see how an lineup with Fultz and Gordon will change anything.

They are good for open court bit one can’t co-exist with another.

If you ask me, we are already preparing for Evan’s departure. Thus the run and gun play and Evan’s role has been less than last year.

One might argue we have nothing. Fultz's shooting is MIA, Isaac resembles mr. Glass and Vuc is not LeBron level talent to pull this team deep into playoffs while has no time left for waiting on internal improvement to happen.

Bamba and Okeke have yet to prove they are rotational players.

I personally am against another rebuild through draft, for that is what we've been doing since 2012. Much rather we try to improve team through trades.

We can't afford Fournier's 17m next year. If they traded him, it would have to be for an expiring and maybe a rookie scale contract.

Can't wait to see him in his rightful role as a 7th option spot-up shooter on a contender.

San Antonio certainly would trade DeRozan and Walker for Gordon and Fournier, Chicago would consider trading Porter for DeRozan.

So: would Orlando trade Gordon and Fournier for Porter and Walker? Well, this trade converts a 17M expiring in to a 29M expiring. And Walker is starting to look like a capable 3-ball shooter. If he would be core with Fultz, Isaac, and Vučević, Orlando could use that 29M as a start to go after Paul George. After that fails, I guess the Magic could land Victor Oladipo.

It would be odd that we fans spent the last five years going through what we have to end up with Oladipo as the splashy FA pick-up.

That's what athletes almost always say in interviews (winning is priority, etc.), but quite often then they choose the offer which is best financially. Saying "I care about the money the most" isn't good PR.

Hopefully some of his ever loyal fanbase on here follow him to his new team.

I recall Tobias Harris had an annoying such fan who miraculously disappeared. I forgot that dudes name. Might have been back during the old EPSN message board days.
