Why is Mudiay not in the league? I thought he started to figure it out the last few years. I would take a flier on him

Yes, especially forcing the players to play 72 games in a condensed schedule without proper summer and training camps. I predict NBA will have a lot of injuries this year, that's just the beginning.

Why not 56 games like NHL did? Why force 72 games? Best NHL players usually plays around 20-25mpg and in the NBA more than 30, makes no sense to risk the final "product". What's the whole point of having 2 back-2-back games against Wizards without any attendance at all?

As I understood it, 72 was a magic number for the TV deals. If they play fewer, they lose a lot of money on that end.

Shame on them so, greed will make the product worse and lose money long-term.

As long as you don't sneak in an Elf with that package...

Is that a package deal with Frank? As I hear it in you board every time he "turns the corner" he has his annual "groin injury" or something?

Rest is for +28 years old players. Not for teens.
Injuries happen, acl is non contact injury as result of hyperexstension of knee. It's impossible to prevent it, happends in seconds.

I have to agree with pepe on this one. That non contact ACL injury is as unpreventable/sudden as it is. Years back in uni I was walking with some friends when one of us accidentally "misstep" the last steps on the stairway. As a result he kinda extends his foot/knee just to be balance and it caused him pain and difficulty to walk regularly.... he was bothered by it for a few days and decided to have it looked at by a doctor right away ( this was in Canada so healthcare is not expensive and he comes from a rich family so medical expenses are nothing). Long story short ACL injury.. surgery and all but he was able to walk normally after a few months and be able to do sports again in less than a year.

Soft tissue injuries are correlated with tired legs. Why do you think they limit minutes? They played a game, had practice the next day, and played another game. In that time period MCW and Fultz got injured and it was more than likely because they were tired.

As soon as they played the Washington B2B you could see they were tired. Smart players like Ross and Fournier took days off. I'll be surprised if Fournier plays another B2B all season, it's not worth the risk.

Word on the inside tells me that Frank is actually a robot and Dolan has spy cameras setup inside his groin to spy on his personnel

Who knows. Im not a doctor. It just that non-contact injury happens. My friend in uni def was not tired but he still had an acl injury just for stepping wrongly. A lot of nba players who played in back to back who are older than Fultz havent been injured.

Heck if you wanna know about some intense or hard -driving coach.. look at thibs and SVG. Those two are known to give their players 35-40mins a night sometimes but *knock on wood* they didn't have ACL injuries to their players yet right?

Soo..the injury excuse is just time for Dolan to extract the camcorder from Frank's groin?

They haven't been practicing. At least not in a traditional sense. Cliff has said it is why players like Bamba and Ennis are tough to reincorporate when there is no practice time to get their legs under them.

On the days between games the 'practice' for the rotation guys has been watching film and walkthroughs, no contact. Only the end of bench guys have been playing 2v2 or 3v3 (Bamba got hit in the head before the Philly blowout playing 3v3).

The answer to your question is the second half of your sentence ! (That I am in UK)

If one want immediate treatment for an injury, one goes to A&E (the Emergency room); that's standard practice here. By booking with a GP, one is effectively stating to the health care services that this is not an immediate concern.

(My wife wanted me to go to A&E on day-1 to get an immediate MRI; which would have happened - and would have "saved" 6 weeks).

Regardless, like almost everything nowadays regarding corporations, money etc most likely rotten to the core and it's all unraveling slowly but surely.

It's been said multiple times in this thread but just one more time: now we NEED to be terrible. Do whatever it takes. It's literally the perfect scenario to be the worst team in the league. Our best 2 young players are out for the year, we hardly have any fans watching the team in person (so no bad optics of an empty arena), we have zero cap room, AND it's looking like a great draft class. All of those things are the prefect excuse to be terrible and if WeHam doesn't see that they gotta go before the ruin this year. We will literally have ZERO excitement both this year AND next year if we don't tank.

Trade vets to get in a better cap situation.
Play young players and give them court experience.
Lose 80% of our games and secure the best odds for the 20-21 draft.

Heck, even get rid of Clifford and bring in some young analytics coach.

I will literally watch more Magic games if we run Anthony, Okeke, Mane, and Bamba every night than if we run the vets and try to fill the gaps with other washed up vets who aren't currently in the league.

The reality is that we needed to be terrible regardless of this injury. Fultz is a pretty decent player, but his ceiling after the shoulder injury was always average to slightly above average starter to me. Through 8 games his numbers were all about where they were last year. Under 40% from the field, 25% from 3 (down from last season), && he also had a -4.6 BPM which was one of the worst for a starting player in the league.

He seems like a good kid, && I do wish him the best, but let's not pretend that the answer to our problems was suddenly lost. I'm far more concerned about the long-term health of Isaac, as he can actually move the needle for us a bit.

We need to hit the draft hard this year and address our point guard problem. This is the class to finally do it.
