Yes, especially forcing the players to play 72 games in a condensed schedule without proper summer and training camps. I predict NBA will have a lot of injuries this year, that's just the beginning.
Why not 56 games like NHL did? Why force 72 games? Best NHL players usually plays around 20-25mpg and in the NBA more than 30, makes no sense to risk the final "product". What's the whole point of having 2 back-2-back games against Wizards without any attendance at all?
As I understood it, 72 was a magic number for the TV deals. If they play fewer, they lose a lot of money on that end.

Soft tissue injuries are correlated with tired legs. Why do you think they limit minutes? They played a game, had practice the next day, and played another game. I have to agree with pepe on this one. That non contact ACL injury is as unpreventable/sudden as it is. Years back in uni I was walking with some friends when one of us accidentally "misstep" the last steps on the stairway. As a result he kinda extends his foot/knee just to be balance and it caused him pain and difficulty to walk regularly.... he was bothered by it for a few days and decided to have it looked at by a doctor right away ( this was in Canada so healthcare is not expensive and he comes from a rich family so medical expenses are nothing). Long story short ACL injury.. surgery and all but he was able to walk normally after a few months and be able to do sports again in less than a year.

As soon as they played the Washington B2B you could see they were tired. Smart players like Ross and Fournier took days off. I'll be surprised if Fournier plays another B2B all season, it's not worth the risk.
