After last night, I’m firmly on the start over train. I’d like to keep Vucevic though, he deserves to see the other side of this thing turn around. Everyone else can go. Issac and Fultz are here regardless now. I’m hoping both recover quickly and become the players they can be.

I’m hoping the Magic can get assets back for Fournier Gordon and Aminu and Ross. ( I still like T-Ross here though too)

The injuries may put us in the lottery discussion anyway. Even with Vuc we got blasted by Houston. I think that’s going to become the norm. So as sad as it is, the injury bug may force the team to start over even when they don’t want. I think ridding the team of WeHam is a necessity as well, they played a huge part in putting us here, and they don’t deserve to keep building this team. I have no issues with Clifford as coach. He’s performed miracles here as far as I’m concerned.

In both cases they are incompetent in being able to show progression. 4 years in and we are still lead by Henny's guys and are in the same status.

At some point you have to think that WeHam are really old guys. We need somebody who are dynamic for us to rebuild.

Talent evaluation, we can use their experience, but managing teams and trading, we need someone with youth and vigor. Clearly WeHam is simply being outperformed by the younger generation who are more active and daring.

We did have a young firebrand of a GM who had an eye for talent....

He traded Dipo for the corpse of Ibaka and signed stonehamd bricks to that ridiculous contract. Talk about daring..

Hennigan was not daring enough. If you listened to the Woj’ pod Giannis Draft series, he was afraid to take Giannis at 2.

This management hasnt even put a stamp on this roster. They still live off through the players Hennigan acquired. All our top 4 options since WeHam arrived have been players Hennigan acquired. Vuc, Evan, AG and Ross. Go figure.

We need a dynamic leader that will right this ship. Following the waves isnt the way to go.

Assuming AG and Evan have legitimate injuries.

Evan wasn't even playing before Fultz injury, so I believe he is injured (and it is a contract year for him).

As for AG, I assume that maybe he would be able to play, but they just assumed we would lose anyway, so it would be better to save him for the next game.

If this were game-7 of the NBA Finals, they play - as does Aminu.

It depends what they do tonight. I've been calling for them to tank one of the B2B games for a while. One, you get to see the young players. Two, you rest some players. I wouldn't be surprised to see the win tonight.

Excellent point!

Gordon and Fournier might have been healthy enough to play, but not at 100%. So just eat a loss, get Bamba some game time, test Bone's capacity to see if he should get a contract upgrade, let Coach play around with some roster options, etc.

And-1 post !

Could we pitch AG into BOS TPE and get back a youngster like Nesmith or Langford with some ap space and then turn our attention to ...

Oladipo?

Looking at spotrac and the salary table for the next few seasons, the summer of 2022 looks to be the next potential big window by WeHam's original plan.

By that point it will only be Vuc, Isaac, Fultz, Chuma and Cole as active contracts. Bamba will be up for extension, Gordon a FA, Fournier and Aminu gone (assuming they allow them to expire and walk).

21-22 will be a disrupted season as Fultz and Isaac try to get back on the court.

In the summer of 22, $75M of committed salary to Vuc 31, Fultz and Isaac 24. Still some good years left to be explored with this group of they prove worth it. (I'm becoming increasingly skeptical of that, but whatever).

That should mean the next two seasons are the perfect chance to pick up affordable RSC pieces ahead of that time to find a legit franchise player and cheap depth. Then we can use the cap space to try lure another big name.

But that would require being active and aggressive and making a calculated triage of this season wins wise but a big step in starting development and sifting through new pieces.

What Vooch deserves is to be traded to a team with a shot at the title. I'll be pissed if we trade him to a B or C level team.

Then after he wins his title, we'll bring him back in his "I should have retired two years ago" days as a backup.
And then hold onto him for some sort of cush, high paying desk job when he finally does retire.

Everyone was saying we should trade AG. Guess what? AG had 9 assists and 17 rebounds last game. Dude is a star for us.

So I am taking it the same on the boat of people wanting to trade Vuc. I don't think we are giving up for a full rebuild just yet, especially with the change of the lottery odds. We just have too much talents on the team.

Losing sucks. But if losing helps the team grow stronger and tougher, I'd take a losing.

I think the Nets game and NYK game did just that, helping the team grow.

We are going to have Evan, MCW and Aminu back pretty quickly. Season is going to be turned around. Just pray!

Did we get any news about MCW and Aminu? I saw MCW the other night in a walking boot. I just assumed he'd be out for months.

Don't think those 3 constitute a possible turn around, however MCW starting at PG and Evan at SG would be a much more watchable product on both ends.

As far as AG...I think we know he is not that player regularly. And you don't just trade guys who are bad, you trade guys that have value.

I have been a Magic fan since 1999, guys, and I am old now, and...I am not even from the US. I am from Serbia. We like basketball here.

I would trade Evan and AG. I would keep the other guys. I would trade the two for whatever value and I would tank THIS and only this season. Fultz and JI will come back, Vooch is very good, other guys are fine.

Lets get this done, Orlando!

All practiced yesterday though only non-contact stuff. Cliff doesn't expect them to play tonight.

Plenty to gripe about but MCW is not a negative...he costs nothing, fits wherever needed, makes a significant defensive impact whenever he's on the floor, has good size and smarts. Poor man's Marcus Smart. He IS prone to bad shots but that doesn't outweigh his positives as he is coachable...Very happy if he's our 8th or 9th man.
