I mean look, if the Magic do end up getting unlucky in the lottery and wind up picking 5th or 6th, then they can and should try and package their own pick with the Bulls pick and Ross to move up to 1 or 2.

Hell, if they're going up for Suggs they could stick Cole or even Fultz in the deal.

Create your own fortune. Figure it out. You have the extra Bulls 2023 and Nuggets 2025 1sts too.

WCJ & Bamba looked great, Okeke is starter talent already. MCW played great defense per usual.

I dont believe we going start winning from now on every game. But its really hopeful to see this core grow Up and progress since the tradeline, i didnt feel like this before it. I wanna see rj, wcj, okeke, mo, cole anthony, fultz, isaac development i just cant care less on the draft pick atm fo real. Keep the w's comming young fellas!

I completely disagree. One thing that needs to be learned since Dwight left is this team needs superstars and you can't win in this league without superstars. The more losses the better chance you get that guy. Yes a win here and there is nice but don't forget what the goal is.

Here's the other thing... we came back from down 16 and ended the game on a 21-5... the tank needs some outside help every once in a while.. in what world is our roster good enough to warrant results like that against a Clippers team who' was a half of a game from the 2 seed in the west?

What doesn't help is the fact that the Clippers were playing their 5th game in 7 nights. Not all of our future opponents will be playing their 5th game in 7 nights.

that deal might not get it done.....i mean this draft has a team like toronto tanking...it's going to become a race to the bottom

Use the Fournier TPE to take a bad contract too. Package the 2023 Bulls and/or 2025 Nuggets picks if you have to.

There's ways to make it happen. Figure it out.

Come on, he traded the 3 best players on the team got picks and unproven players in return and we are complaining he is not fully committing to the tank? Nobody is looking at this roster and thinking its anything but one of the worst in the league.

Caught the Clippers on their 5th game in 7 nights and missing 5 rotation guys, George, Rondo, Ibaka, Morris and Beverley, and LA just flat out ran out of gas.

In the past week(ish), we've beaten the clippers, nuggets and nets....trust me this team is going to go on a very stupid run at the end of the year while other teams are tanking

Cliff showed his true colors when he went with birch-mcw-tross-ennis for much of the 4th quarter

He's still coaching to win over evaluating young talent

Did RJ even play in the 4th?

Clipps werent tanking the magic won cause they played better against a contender. Im happy más props to steve.please keep him!

I'm talking about going forward
We are going to beat up on the smart teams (you know teams that understand that they are going nowhere and how important the draft is) who start tanking to end the season

I'm going to predict we end the season just short of the play-in tourney and like 8th worst record

There are alot more winnable games than this one left on the schedule. I broke it down in the Draft thread the other night. Ross/MCW/Birch would be the obvious shutdowns to make. RJ/Cole need guaranteed minutes down the stretch. I'd go ahead and sit Harris the rest of the way as well.

Otherwise, we are going to find ourselves outside of top 5 odds. We are better than we were pre-deadline and will continue to smother teams defensively once we add Harris to our current rotation. I agree changes should be made if we want top 4 odds.

yeah no team will give up Cade even for 2 top 10 picks.

Like of you had Luka, would you give him up for 2 top 10 picks in the same draft?

Tanking requires having the coach on board, he's clearly not

He's still playing useless vets like ennis and mcw 27-30 minutes over younger players

nothing this drastic is going to happen, we're going to ride it out....i just hope we don't play ourselves out of the top 5....that would be stupid

If we can't shutdown vets who've battled nagging injuries all season and can't buyout the vets who won't be here next season then we deserve to pick 5th or 6th.

This! blowing it up and not putting in the extra stops to commit to losing makes the moves redundant. Gotta have the vet players shutdown for the season like the Thunder did with Horford or have “nagging” injuries keeping them out the rest of the season and fill them with 2 way contracts & G-Leaguers. Let the youth be evaluated, if they get wins when that happens then so be it, but Cliff isn’t going to coach us to getting the best player so it’s on Management.

not a great comparison since teams literally did pass on Luka and trade out of the way.

I don't disagree with you, but no veteran shutdowns are coming with Clifford here. I fully expect MCW, Ross, Harris when healthy, Ennis and Porter to all play.

Anthony will replace Randle in the rotation.

Harris will, unfortunately, probably replace Hampton.

The only thing that probably will end up happening that we can all agree on is that one of Carter or Bamba (I'm hoping Carter) will replace Birch as the starting center. But even then I'd expect Birch to still play.

The team post-trade is clearly better on defense and offensively we were already bad so the difference isn’t really that much

Return to Orlando Magic
