We have to put in some work for it, we can't just rely solely and heavily on just lotto luck like how we got Penny, that was an outlier.

It is what it is if we win games the right way, but if we are relying on 30 year old for the big plays and big shots, that is not the right way. That is just repeating the same mistakes that made us mediocre and might once again happen unless we get extremely lucky on the lottery again as in the 90's.

we need our batman....when we had vuc and company all we had was some rotation players, nice complimentary players(AG+Evan+Ross) and a robin(Vuc) but no batman.....my fear is history repeating itself, this team now has a few nice complimentary players but that's it at this point....we will see going forward....

I don't even think Vuc was a Robin. He should have been playing the role that Brook Lopez is playing in Mil. But you are absolutely correct and I have been saying this for years since Dwight left the magic that the magic have always been a team full of good role players but no stars to build around. So it's absolutely necessary that magic hit on the draft picks and find these stars.

It's like you haven't watched what has happened since Dwight left. You need stars to wins in this league and the draft is one of the best ways to get one.

Blah blah blah, same garbage people have been spewing for the last 10 years while the team refused to tank and watching us miss out on great players every year and getting stuck with role players and scrubs

And anti-tankers are naïve, Koolaid pounding chumps. Your jaw must be sore after your daily visits to WeHam's offices.

I'm not pro tanker, and i hate system of losing to get better.
But if you suck, there is no much difference between having 14-35 record or 17-33 in terms of "culture" but can make huge difference in terms of picking Michael Jordan and Lancaster Gordon.

Imo, there is simply too many contract driven vets in Orlando to not win additional 7-10 games for rest of a season
Prediction day after Vuc, Gordon, Evan departure - most fans who are celebrating birth of new rebuild will be crying how rebuild is painful before 2022-23 season ends.

I'm pretty sure they kept those vets for Cliff. Which tanking team keeps a player like Otto in these kind of trades & doesnt wave him. Its not like we doesnt had 4-5 other vets already on the team as mentors. Have to check but we have probably as many vets as all the other tanking teams combined. WeHam probably have to ''evaluate'' for 20 games, if its helpful or not for the tank
Lets hope we are the team that jumps this year

I've posted on speculation thread how we really only right now develop Okeke and somewhat Wendell, but most of our roster is made of guys who are +25 years old and finished products.
Than Skin went to his age post and pointed out how young team is. Failing to see that most of our young guys ( Fultz, Isaac, Cole ) don't even play, yet, in mean time, we play MCW ( 29) , Ross (30) , Birch (28), Bacon (26), Randle (27), Ennis (31) and soon to return- Gery Harris (26). Those guys are all older than Gordon :dontknow:

It's painful to entertain notion that they might consider resign Otto Porter or Ennis.

Long terms salary flexibility also comes to question, if they will just resign and keep both Bamba and Wendell. There is no reason to pay 2 centers cumulative money of +$20-25 M a year .Simply too much.

Yea and this year its even dumber because of the covid season, you rarely play against full teams. You cant check the schedule and say we are only favs in 4-5 more games, like Knightro has done. It doesnt matter, because we gonna play against teams without there good players regularly the rest of the season. We just played 4 games in a row against better teams without there best player/s :noway:

From April 13 to to April 26 we play:
Houston
Chicago
San Antonio
Toronto
Atlanta
Pelicans
Pacers

just watch them win 5 of 7 and having posters claim how Corey Kispert is execlly what this team needs

You're preaching to the choir, I understand that. I still posed a question on how we will assure ourselves of getting the worst record when we already have a lot of average to bad vets + a chucker in Ross + young players that are already getting minutes, all while knowing our coach is Clifford?

Great new profile pic btw

Dominant bench play. Just a big wow for the second-unit.

Orlando lost the FG% battle, was out-rebounded. And shot the three-ball horribly.

Where did the win come from: A) the free-throw line ! Orlando got to the charity stripe and made FTs at an elite clip. B) TOs: coach Clifford slept soundly last night seeing a -13 disparity in the TO differential line. Forcing 23 TOs is great and doing so whilst surrendering only 10 is awesome. WOW!
(Orlando starters only surrendered 2 TOs !!!! )

With this win, Orlando is now tied for the 4th/5th worst record with Cleveland and is only 1/2 gane back of 6th-place Washington. Orlando is 3 games better than 3rd place Detroit.

The Magic is now only 3 games back from the #10 play-in slot. With 24 games left, the Magic need a probable 15-9 record to close out the season to be on the cusp. That's a 64% win rate.

To the pro and anti tankers.. just enjoy the 2 wins we had. Especially since wcj was mostly responsible for it. When we face the jazz and den in the next few days, all will be right with thw world cuz Jokic and Gobert will make wcj and mo look like busts and ensuring our losses.

Jazz play the Bulls and Magic on a B2B. We might catch them by surprise if they have to put much effort in against Chicago and come in tired.

Woke up to another surprise Magic win...wonder if anyone will bring up Luka? Just cut and paste previous threads to save time of repeating how higher picks are higher value and other breakthrough takes.

The team looked better with RJ at point, thought he did a good job of not forcing play.
He's super fast too!

I hope the Pelicans lose tonight too, like the Clippers lost last night. Zion and Ingram were out with a finger sprain and a sore toe.
