Pretty damning on his part. You’d think atleast length wise he would be able to cause some disruption on the defensive side of the ball if the effort was there. He’s the Nuggets X factor for them being a true contender and representing the West or not.

They are definitely going to need AG to play like that every game because the better teams in the West are definitely going to attack Murray and MPJ in that lineup. Both of them are very suspect on the defense end. Also Jokic will need to man the **** up. Dwight was basically bullying him in the series against the Lakers and completely took him out of rhythm.

As for us, I feel confident in saying that I really like the trade we did with Denver. We actually got more for Gordon than I'd imagined. I stopped liking Gordon honestly after our first playoff series against the Raptors.

I completely agree with this

Man I'm excited about our team they aren't scared of anyone. WCJ is looking like a steal, RJ played pretty good tonight but he reminds me of Cole when he first got to play bc he was over doing everything then once he slowed down a bit he started rolling.

The game of basketball will slow down for RJ eventually. && he's going to be a serious problem when that happens.

I guess it's to be expected that Clifford would be more pissed off after losing a game that he deemed "winnable" because of lack of attention to detail, real or imagined.

Read on Twitter

You see stuff like this where Clifford openly expresses his frustration with the few young players they have and it makes you wonder if he will want to keep coaching this team when they inevitably get even *younger* next season.

Ennis, Porter Jr. and Birch are all unrestricted free agents to be and it's likely they're all going to be replaced by younger, more mistake prone players.

Does Clifford just tell Weltman he's done or what?

You’d hope Weltham would take the hint and replace him before it comes to that point.

What coaches could you see being brought over for the Magic at this stage?

I saw someone suggest Kenny Atkinson on a another thread, I’m a fan of that move

Feels like all the coaches we’ve had since Skiles have been close copies. Defensive focused, lack of offensive prowess/imagination, none known for player development. Vogel just wasn’t as much of a hard a** as Skiles & Cliff.

It’s going to be very interesting how this offseason plays out.

Clifford has never gone into a season coaching a team that wasn’t expected to be competitive and it’s highly possible/likely that next year’s team is going to be really bad.

At the very least they’re likely going to be much younger and even more mistake prone than this current group.

Does Clifford even want to deal with that?

But on the other hand, I’m not sure anyone is going to be beating down his door to hire him if he were to resign. So maybe he keeps the job for another year because he low key knows this is probably his last head coaching job.

Bacon is the first shooting guard I've seen that makes driving and shooting layups look so extremely difficult

This. It's smart coaching. You never want a young team to start getting comfortable with losses.

Pretty sure Clifford is the only reason, unlike other tanking teams, we kept those guys, even salary filler like Porter Jr. They probably feared Cliff steps back in the middle of the season, which unlike in football/soccer, is pretty unusual in the NBA.

I mean why keepin Birch when you have 2 young Centers you wanna see playing as much minutes as possible because you have to decide if you pay them in the off season or the year after.

Why you keep a guy like Porter in our situation? Harris i can understand, because he looks still 100% athletically unlike Porter, is younger & cant play/help anyway.

We have enough Vets even without those 2 & 60% of the season was over anyway. Only reason i can see is Cliff.

Just finished the game btw. Fun game again. Chuma, WCJ & RJ 8-) Damn cant wait for next season, with hopefully a healthy Isaac & 2 lottery picks.

Entertaining game.
Hopefully Wendell and Okeke can be nice assets going forward and become solid players.

Birch should be ready, and I would think Carter-Williams could be put in Magic-blue, even if he were to be minutes limited.

Well Birch and Carter-Williams were held out but Bamba was not.
