Well 5 sucks but with our luck I guess I should've expected it. Outside of Cade, Moody was the next guy I liked he's who I'm hoping we get at 8. Now the 5th pick I'm not that big of a fan of Kuminga, if we want to draft a project Sengun I wouldn't mind, he's got a great post game and passing right now just needs to work on shooting and defense. Would he be different than Vuc? plus we have WCJ and Mo so I'm not thinking we draft him but he's kinda the only one that interests me but I don't think he gets past 6 in OKC.

RJ/Cole
Jalen/Fultz
JJ/Ross
Isaac/Okeke
Bamba/Vet

Isaac at the 3 = broken knees

Way too much wiggle needed there that he can't handle.

Slide JJ to the 3. I see him as an oversized point forward anyway. That team would get me excited as hell.

That's like AG at the 3 all over again. JJ at 8 is a reach. If we did take him, he'd probably be insurance for Isaac at the 4.

Something tells me the Cavs would also consider using the #3 pick as bait to get off of Kevin Love’s contract.

#8 + whatever combo of player they want = #3 + Kevin Love

Harris as an expiring contract + Isaac or Ross would work.

Is that a deal we can live with?

This is likely a draft night deal which only happens if Green is still on the board.

For #8! No way, for #5 maybe they consider it

aggressive in trading #3 for a player.

would you trade #8 + Isaac for #3?

come away with Green and then you could draft Barnes if you wanted at #5 to provide that PF defense.
I'd trade Isaac + #8, makes sense for both really. Cleveland don't need the guards at #3 and gets Isaac

I would also do #3 for #5 and Bamba or WCJ, whichever one they want. Or could go #8, Harris, Bamba/WCJ, and Ross for Love and #3

PHI - Love + Ross
CLE - Simmons + Isaac
ORL - #3

Trade 2:

GSW: 5 + WCJ/Bamba
ORL: 7 + 14

Draft:
3 - Green/Mobley
7 - Sengun/Barnes
8 - Giddey
14 - Mann

We’d replace the defense lost with either Mobley/Barnes, add scoring through Green/Sengun and Mann, and add playmaking through Giddey.

So you can see the Magic rolling on five rookies can you?

Anyhow, I would see these as:
3 - Green/Mobley
7 - Barnes
8 - Moody
14 - Kispert
33 - Daishen Nix (just went with the NBAdraft slot).

Well: with Fultz, Anthony, Isaac, Okeke, Bamba/Carter, and Hampton, Orlando would have eleven players 23 years "old" and younger.
ELEVEN!

Harris at 26 and a potential resign of Wagner and Brazdeikis, that is THIRTEEN 23 year olds, or younger.

I don’t see a reason for them not to do so. Like Philly, OKC and Atlanta did, they could pump a bunch of youth in, assess and quickly move on until they find their foundation pieces, then move the flops for better fitting pieces.

It all comes down to picking the right players and fit. If we can spare a roster spot for Bacon or Birch we can spare a spot for a rookie who’s more of an unknown but possibly much better in the long run.

I'm optimistic by nature. I'm giving him 1 more injury before I'm out on him. :(

lol, most would. I understand the hard part is getting a star, and if you don't have one, you do all you can to obtain one; plug in the holes after the hard part is done. But, I just can't quit JI yet. I know....I'm a fool. I'm trying to form my big 3 and just hoping for health and the 3rd piece.

I just dont view JI as a star. i dont think its just me and maybe unpopular, but i dont see him as a star

nah, you're not alone, and him not being a star is a very popular opinion. I'd guesstimate 95% of fans would get rid of both to get a star. my vision just attempts to add a star to this duo.

you could see glimpses during the early bubble games, and even season before. He's always played his role, defaulted, and tried to fit in wherever was best for the team. I think with the vets gone, he'll be more assertive and blossom. He'll have mistakes but he'll get that experience and we'll be better for it. In my deep core, i really see him & Markelle as great duo.

To me, if healthy, JI is a AD or Gobert on defense. He is decent enough on offense to not be a complete liability… but you have take a swing for a guy like Green and hope for the best. That said, I don’t think he is valued all that highly due to the injuries.

Injuries aside, JI just goes underappreciated around here because our offense has been so bad for so long. Folks around here look at other teams and envy the guys that dump in 25 points a night from the perimeter and believe that is why they win. Those teams' fans watch their centerpiece score a lot of points in losing efforts and wish they had a JI to fix their defense.

It's the philosophy of the world (Warning!!! You probably don't want to watch this!):

No doubt. JI could be the cornerstone of a team’s defense for a decade+… but he hasn’t been healthy and that’s why I would entertain the trade. If he was healthy and didn’t have the injury history, there is no way I trade him even for Cade. In this mythical ‘injury free’ world, I would only trade JI for an established star.

Kind of crazy how Detroit will have Killian Hayes, Cade, and Grant next season. Talk about a decent core.

Return to Orlando Magic
