RJ on his Way??

Thought he deserved his own thread.
Last 3 games
18-39 46% FG, 4-7 3pt, 8rebs per game, 7Ast, 17pts per game.
I know we can classify some of this as "garbage time" points, but He is doing what he hoped.
This has to give him confidence going into an off-season program.
How does everyone see him? PG, SG, combo? Any overlap with Cole?

I like what I see from him, given the minutes and opportunity. He has some issues finishing at the rim with some wild shots, like Cole at the first half of the year. But as we can see from Cole, who finishes now quite good at the rim, that is something he can improve.
His athleticism is nice and fun to watch. I think there will be some issues, especially if we draft someone like Green and a hopefully then healthy Fultz, we have 4 people at the guard spots who will have to "battle it out". There will be no clear separation who is a starter or in the second unit, this could lead to some selfish plays to prove themselves as the go to guy.
But that's all hypothetical, so far I'm happy RJ!

He is a combo guard who will get most of his minutes next year as an off-ball guard. Indeed ...
Any overlap with Cole?
... after Ross moves on, Hampton could very well be a key part of a second unit with Anthony as the lead guard.
..

I was excited about Getting RJ in the trade. Once he figures out how to slow down he’ll game manage better. His court vision has been really good and he’s learning when to turn on his speed. I definitely see him playing off the ball mostly with some spot mins at the 1 based on match ups potentially.

RJ reminds me of Westbrook as a freshman at UCLA. Stupid athletic and skilled but out of control a lot. Hopefully he can continue to improve his shot and court vision

I think he'll eventually be a 20 ppg scorer.

RJ is the same age now that Sexton was at Alabama.

As I said before he is a very raw player but with all the tools to be a great scoring SG. If everything pans out I see him as the same tier of SG as the Stackhouse, Rip, Mobley kind of tier.
If he really improves his ball-handling in that he can sometime man the point, then yeah it would open up a new dimension on him like, as someone said, in the Rus category.

He has age, athleticism, and the right attitude on his side. Even though I doubt his skill set, I would love for him to put it all together and become a quality contributor.

And it turns out that getting RJ, Harris and 1 FRP was very good for AG.

Sexton also put up 19 ppg in the SEC that year.

Gordon's stat-line collapse on a better team than he left is stark.

RJ at Orlando - 10.5/4.6/2.3
Gordon at Denver - 10/4.9/2.2
Obviously doesn't mean much but it is slightly entertaining.

AG is probably just riding it to a ring. So he probably doesnt mind the hit on his numbers as long as he is winning.Once he has it, he will probably want to go to a team where he can be the #2 option to imprive his brand

I’m hoping that the only thing holding him back was minutes. If he can shoot consistently he will be really good.

I think what is holding a talented rookie like him on a team like DEN is that they are loaded with wings and are in a championship hunt. They don't really like to sacrifice games just to develop rookies. Especially when their vets also need the playing time.
