Wow, Donnie out in Dallas.
Lots of "unexpected" firings in the NBA recently.

I never understood why Cuban kept Donnie around for 20+ years.

Seth Curry with 7 three pointers and it's only three 3rd quarter... remember when the Magic had him but didn't think he was worth anything :noway:

Players get better. He worked on his game.

Agree but he was cheap, we desperately needed 3pt shooting, they should have tried him out longer.

Tobe is a good player but if he is your go to perimeter scorer you are not a true title contender.

Trae Young haters getting exposed. Looks like the Hawks were right to want him over Doncic.

The Sixers are the better team. I just don't understand how you are up 18 in game 4 and 26 in game 5 and somehow still find a way to lose. It makes no sense.

Luka is better player, no doubt, hands down.
Trae has had very ugly series before this game (40% FG, 31% for 3 ) but really shined tonight, regardless of him, 76ers are beating themselfs over and over again. First it was Embiid with one of worst games by superstar in recent years ( 4-20 for a center....) and now Ben Simmons missed 10 free throws in 14 attemps including 76rs allowing 40 points in 4th quater.

In general both teams have no business being so deep in playoffs but got there due favorable seeding. Healthy Celtics are probably better than both teams in 7 games series, so are Nets, Bucks and maybe even Miami. But it is what it is.

76ers menaged to lose game where they were up by 22 points at half time. It's pointless to waste words on them. Eastern conference finals is between Bucks and Nets. That next series will be just warmup for finals.

They are dumb. That's how. They have no reasons to engage into mindless run and gun especially with 7 foot C and 6'10 PG, yet Rivers simply isn't smart enough to calm them down when it's needed.
You look at Clippers, under Lue last night, they were up by just 5 with 4 min left ,but they squeezed life out of clock, slowed every possession down to last 3 second and killed any Utah momentum. 76ers and Rivers simply don't know how to do it. They lost game 2 ( i think ) due full court press during single possession deficit with 30 sec to play by allowing clear path foul at half court.

SImply poorly coached. Rivers continues to be most overrated nba coach in last 10 years. His only career achivment is having 3 superstars for 1 ring. That Celtics team could have won ring with golden fish coaching them.

Tobias Harris much worse than AG last night. 38 minutes 4 pts 4 rebs, and we already know he isn't capable of playing good defense.

Man, I was thinking the same thing. I have no clue why they didn't run out the clock.

not sure about that. to me, Young has a better constructed team than Doncic. that said, they both are difference makers, and both can also shoot a team out of a game because the teams run so much thru them

I think this is overblown. He will sign. Still, he isn’t happy with the state of the Mavs and a key person in their management team. He wants clarity on direction for the future and peace of mind that wins will come.

I have asked this before, but I will ask again (in a different way).

If you can pick anyone from any generation of NBA basketball, who is the ideal #2 or 1b for the Mavs to get alongside Luka?

Take your pick. He has his flaws. He is overrated at this point.

He is a terrific offensive player, but they are essentially running their offense the way Clifford would run it. Give the ball to Luka 100% of possessions and have him create everything. His numbers are inflated for this reason. The problems with this approach are that it is very predictable, it limits your overall upside, and it doesn't exploit the opposition's defensive weaknesses. If you have enough quality defensive wings, you can hinder Doncic and the Mavs have no plan B. At the defensive end, Doncic is a problem.

Right now, he is the new James Harden. His offensive value leans more towards facilitation than isolation, but that's the only real difference.

Ideally, you are going to need quite a bit more than just a Robin to his Batman. One player isn't likely to fix the defensive issues he creates and his biggest strength offensively is his ability to find the open man, so the open man has to be a threat.

Like the last iteration of Orlando, Philly is going to get exposed playing a team playing outside-in. Even if Embiid is the second best Center in the league it won’t matter.

Their roster doesn’t make sense built around Embiid and Simmons. You won’t close out a series if Seth Curry is your only player taking more the 3 shots from beyond the arc against the Hawks (and having a career high nonetheless).

By the way, Tobias Harris is a glorified overpaid 6th man and Ben Simmons might be the most overrated player ever.

Ben Simmons.....you can't be in the league this long and not improve your game....he has so much potential but he might be another AG....another player that is not as good as people thinks he is....i don't understand what's up with him
