I feel reborn today.

I had a feeling he wasn't super interested in overseeing a rebuild.

Ultimately this is probably for the best.

Well then... I honestly was not expecting that.

Going to be interesting to see who the hire is. Not to be Captain Obvious, but this is a very important decision coming up.

I'm assuming it's Terry Stotts that's going to be the next Coach... As a developmental one he's pretty damn good (IMO)

Glad he doesn’t need to go through the rebuild and excited to get a new pickup to take the helm. Hopefully someone more creative on offense.

The next coach should have a player development background. Whether that is as an assistant or as a G-League head coach or whatever it is.

The Magic are going to be quite bad for the next several seasons and they need someone who can help maximize whatever abilities the guys they bring in have without being concerned about winning games.

That's the only thing that really matters at this point.

I'm pleased. It's interesting though that we waited until the Celtics job opened up. I would assume our top targets are still coaching? I hope it's just a coincidence that this came on the heels of Portland dumping Stotts. I'd rather bring in someone younger that understands the focus is on player development.

I’d go with a successful g league guy and focus on hiring the best assistants for development.

Full rebuild. Thank you coach Cliff for taking us to the playoffs. One of the best coaches in our franchise history no doubt. Hopefully we give someone like Billups a chance. I think he’ll be a good coach to start a rebuild and help develop Cole and Fultz.

I like Joerger as well. His resume looks good. His last Memphis team imploded due to injuries, but otherwise his record there was quite impressive for a first-time head coach. He actually had Sacramento heading in the right direction while playing their young guys. He won everything in the minor leagues, which has to mean something. My only concern with him is that he seems to wear out his welcome rather quickly for some reason or another.
