Vanterpool. I think coaches like Hardaway and Hammon would want to be better set up for success. Stotts is too old and I can't see him wanting to participate in a rebuilding situation. I think Atkinson is going to be highly coveted and he'll take a job somewhere else with more established players (Portland, Boston, Indiana). Vanterpool has been waiting for his opportunity. He interviewed twice with the franchise. Third time's the charm.

I'll take the field, even though i like a couple of these folks. This FO doesn't let any air out of the room. Any rumors coming out are coming from leaks with their own objectives. Magic beat reporters have almost no clue about this FO at any point in time. Robbins is really good, but it's not like he is getting good intel most of the time, it's his own perspective, or interviewing someone for theirs.

My feeling is it’s Vanderpool also. He’s a guy who’s been on the cusp of getting an NBA job for years. He’s been looked at here before. I’d be favorable to him or Atkinson getting the job. I’d be ok with Hammond. I’d also not be surprised if Weltman dipped into his own well and Darvin Hamm ended up here as I think they were linked in Milwaukee.

I won’t be surprised at a franchise coach, someone linked to the Magic, ie Darrell Armstrong. My nightmare scenario is Mike D’Antoni. He wins at every other job he gets. The Magic would be an other according to the math.

I'm thinking it's Vanterpool...secretly hoping for Hammon and hoping our kid roster could handle and even embrace it. Hope they make a hire quickly before other playoff teams enter the fray after whacking their coaches.

Vanterpool is someone I've been intrigued by dating all the way back to the Vogel hire. He's been credited for years as a major cog in the development of Lillard/CJ. With the young guards we are going to have on this team next year, Vanterpool is the candidate I'm hoping will be coaching them.

With that said though, I understand the question is asking who do I think will be the coach, && I personally believe Stotts has this front office's name written all over it.

I think we go with Atkinson or Hammon. But we usually don't hire coaches that I like, so who knows.

More hoping for number 1 pick. we need a franchise player and a coach that will give them the keys.

Forget going for a newbie. We need experience coach.

Ok, now that I thought it over.. I think Atkinson would be my choice. The way he handled that pre-super team BKN was really good.

Usually former players that were “great” never turn out to be good coaches… so pass on Kidd.. they have nothing to prove either.

Odd that a coach who is confirmed to be setup for an inteview (Kidd) is not on the list?

It's also weird that he is going to interview with us after turning down Portland.

If the feeling is mutual, it'll be Atkinson. Otherwise, Vanterpool; the rumored finalist with Cliff 3 years ago.

I bet they aim to get both.

For me I am happy with these three, in order:
Hammon
Vanterpool
Atkinson

One of those three seems to be the direction that seems reasonable to me.
