Post Lottery Mock Draft
People here will hate Kuminga.........
Most scouts believe he has the highest ceiling.
It's almost like they forget he had just turned 18 when the bubble started, and still managed to show glimpses of dominance at barely 18.
The people in here just love to be in a Perpetual state of depression, they just talk to talk.
Doom and gloom mentality.

We hear this "highest ceiling" crap all the time. It means nothing. Can he improve the most out of each player? Sure. Because he's so bad and has such a limited skillset that any kind of improvement is massive improvement.
The same people that were crying about Anthony's percentages are in here trying to tell me that this guy is going to be one of the best players in this draft class. Get outta here.
You're not neccessarily talking to me specifically. But I'm also definitely not a doom and gloomer around here. I tend to be one of the most positive "homers" around here. But to be screwed so badly by the league that we have to draft a very flawed players is annoying.
On top of that, if he has the highest potential, why won't a top 3 team draft him? They'd want the best player right?
God. Family. Country. Basketball.

We heard this about Aaron Gordon too, blank canvas and **** like that.
Didnt work out that way.
It is extremely rare.

Great vid thanks for sharing...
Now that ive accepted our fate, im all in on Kuminga with 5 assuming we dont trade it. He is NOT the same as Aaron Gordon, he has a much higher ceiling simply based on his ball handling and overall offensive touch. AG would kill to have the offensive game of Kuminga. I saw swing for the fences here. If we can move up for Suggs, do it, but if we cant, draft Kaminga and Bouknight and trade one of Hampton/Anthony.

Well sure, but the question is what other options do they have if they can't move up?
Everyone slotted 5-15 has some level of question marks about their game.

Kuminga is only a few days younger than AG was when we drafted him.

Re: Post Lottery Mock Draft
Watching Kuminga's post game shows a very skilled player in that regard. If he can translate that level of footwork, smoothness, and IQ to the perimeter and a shot? He would be the best player in the draft. That is a lot he has to work on though.

Re: Post Lottery Mock Draft
Latest mock from Jonathan Wasserman.
1. Detroit - Cunningham
2. Houston - Mobley
3. Cleveland - Suggs
4. Toronto - Green
5. Orlando - Jonathan Kuminga, SF, G-League Ignite
Once Cade Cunningham, Evan Mobley, Jalen Green and Jalen Suggs are off the board, the Orlando Magic will presumably looking at Jonathan Kuminga, Scottie Barnes, Jalen Johnson, Keon Johnson, Davion Mitchell, Franz Wagner. A perceived gap between No. 4 and No. 5 could also lead team Orlando to explore trade possibilities.
But sticking at No. 5 will most likely lead the Magic to Kuminga, whose mix of power, speed and perimeter skill at 6'8" creates mismatch scoring potential.
He'll require some patience with his shooting development and decision-making, but he's still loaded with shot-making ability, and he figures to receive enough early reps from age 19 to strengthen his feel for the game and shot selection. Orlando could see a force in peak Kuminga with his physicality, athleticism, face-up package and post game.
6. Oklahoma City - Barnes
7. Golden State - Wagner
8. Orlando - Davion Mitchell, G, Butler
After taking frontcourt scorer Jonathan Kuminga, the Orlando Magic can use the Chicago Bulls' pick to strengthen their backcourt with Davion Mitchell.
Fear over his age (22) should start to fade later in the lottery. His blow-by explosiveness, defensive quickness and intensity, and improved shot-making have become too convincing.
He made significant progress this season as a self-creator, playmaker and shooter off the dribble and catch. Having seen his comfort level sharing the ball at Baylor with Jared Butler, Orlando should see an easy fit, whether it's at point guard or in a combo role.
9. Sacramento - J. Johnson
10. New Orleans - K. Johnson
11. Charlotte - Moody
12. San Antonio - Giddey
13. Indiana - Bouknight
14. Golden State - Kispert

Let's not hang the franchises recent past on who ever we draft. It isn't their fault.

A 23 year old rookie, if he isn't the best player in the draft, is a huge mistake in the first year of a rebuild.

Yeah if we kept our team together and drafted 6 or 7, then Mitchell would be a great pick but first year of a rebuild and our rookie would be pretty much our oldest player....just not the best idea

I understand your point in that you'd want as high of a ceiling player as possible in the first year of a rebuild. So would I. But if the front office thinks Mitchell is the best player at our draft position, you take him. The age would line up fine, since he's basically the same age as Isaac, Fultz, Okeke, and Carter Jr., who are all either 22 or 23 right now. Assuming those players are going to be remaining with the team.

Re: Post Lottery Mock Draft
You all are overreacting.
I would much rather have Green but Kuminga is still only 18 and was doing well against adults.
I would still like to trade up, but let’s not act like Kuminga is a bad prospect.
I would be upset if we pick someone else at 5.
I swear some people in here just look at mock drafts when they don’t watch anything other than the NBA.

Honestly, I’m not against drafting Kuminga, who I think is already a better player than Gordon was coming out of college.
I’m just not intrigued with the term “blank canvas”. Players with limited skillset are not blank canvas at all. Its just a small canvas.
I’ve done some research about Kuminga, apparently he grew up in Africa or something at flew to the US at like 13, iirc. From unknown to #1 of his class starting from his junior year.
He is improving, so hopefully his shot will too.

To me my only concern is his shooting stroke. I think the concern about his shot selection is overstated. The guy is only 18 and played against NBA-caliber competition, his strength and shot selection will develop over time
