According to Kevin O'Connor of The Ringer, the Knicks would like to move up in the draft with an eye on Oregon guard Chris Duarte. They are also reportedly involved in trade talks with the Orlando Magic for guard Terrence Ross.

would not be shocked to see him moved possibly with 33 or maybe it's a secondary move for late 1st after we trade up into top 3.

Any playoff team should be interested in him. One of the best 6th man in the league on a great contract.

I'm probably in the minority on this but I don't see the point of trading Ross just to trade him. He provides the one skill this team lacks the most and is on a relatively good contract that declines in value over the next two seasons. Why would we add yet another rookie to this roster? You aren't going to be able to play or pay all of these guys who are on the same trajectory.

might have more value if his 3pt % hadnt dropped significantly the past 2 years

tinfoil conspiracy time Orlando already has a trade to move up to 3 and are trying to get another late 1st.

5& 8 for 3
TRoss & 33 for late 1st and player TBD

Please & Thank You!

context also matters a bit as our roster was G league level last year. Imagine tRoss on a team with a legit lead guard and at least 1 other shooter. Teams wouldn't be able to sit on the high PicknRoll or Pin & pull plays we ran for him almost ad nauseam

oh, i dont disagree. but teams asking about him will point to that when price comes up

My guess is something like...

Ross and 33 for Knox and 19.

It would make sense for a lot of reasons. Could snag Suggs/Mobley and Ziaire/Tre while also making more room for Ziaire/RJ/Cole to see the court. And only 2 rookies.

Might just be my Orlando bias but it seems like it makes sense for Cleveland (can still get Kuminga/Barnes + someone else) and NYK since they need shooting.

Just read (not credible to my knowledge) that we are talking with GS about Ross & Bamba & future 2nds for GS #7.. I feel like GS wouldnt do that but its floating around some outlets....

I guess the Magic intend to be the worst shooting team - or close to it - again next year. I get that everyone wants picks and a bunch of 19-year old players. But, how many rookies do you want on a roster?

I’d move 33 and Ross for late first. Sounds about right value, he’s probably worth an early 2nd, 2 early 2nds worth 20-25? If we are taking back salary seems a little short for us.

I just don’t see where we are going to give all these guards meaningful PT. I hate Ross at the three. RJ and Harris need the minutes at 2

What if we want to grab Kispert with a mid round pick?

I dont think the Knicks would trade a 1st for Ross. Im thinking maybe they offer Knox and a 2nd rounder. Which I would decline unless Ross is asking to be moved

If the FO valued TRoss at Knox ( a negative piece) and 2 2nds he would've been gone at the deadline to fully ensure we get the lotto balls. Have to imagine a team at back of 1st in win now mode would be interested in taking TRoss for a pick. Magic then move 33 for cash or a future 2nd.
