6'10", can handle, can pass, can shoot, can defend. We needed a solid swingman at 3. Good pick and great fit.

Welcome Franz. I cant wait to watch you lock down the perimeter with Isaac and Okeke. Work on that 3.

I talked him up since the process started. He's fantastic on defense with solid offensive skills. He's big with a sky high IQ. Being able to get the high potential player in Suggs just made Wagner the perfect choice. Knowing that Okeke and Isaac have had major knee surgeries it just makes even more sense.

absolutely agree.

the best part is how perfectly fit the pieces.

we still need something more, but we have time and asset to go to find what we still need.

we just getting started 8-)

A lot of positive feedback coming in regarding this pick....

Orlando Magic - Franz Wagner, F, Michigan

Wagner is a huge wing who was listed at 6’9 by Michigan but might be still growing. He’s one of the draft’s better defensive prospects, showing impressive quickness and agility on the perimeter while also having the size to defend in the paint. Shooting will be Wagner’s swing skill on offense. He hit 34 percent of his threes at Michigan, and projects to be a better floor spacer than fellow oversized forwards Scottie Barnes and Jalen Johnson. It’s just that Wagner appears to get in his own head when he misses a few threes, which is something he’ll have to get over in the NBA. If he can get opposing defenses to respect his three-point shot, Wagner offers enticing ability to make plays off the bounce for someone his size.

While he may not be a star, Wagner could be an excellent role player. We had him at No. 5 overall on our draft board. It feels like the Magic aced this draft.

Grade: A

He was the first prospect i liked and even posted here why he is not projected to go lottery. His comparisons are Hayward, Otto Porter. Those are lofty but defensively he has every chance to be special. Isaac, Wagner, Okeke ? Are you kidding me ?
My money is on Banchero going number 1 !

I still love this pick I have watched every game of his at Michigan. His defensive iq is amazing he always seems a step ahead of his man. His hands are also insane expect steals and blocks in bunch’s

We needed a shooter. Franz isn't an elite shooter but is definitely capable. I don't see the highest ceiling, but I do not see a bust at all. I'm excited to see what he can do.

Here's a scouting video on Franz in case anyone hasn't seen it yet. This guy does a solid job putting these vids together imo.

I had him 15th on my big board. I think it's a bit of a reach considering the talent still on the board but we shall see.

Let's be honest: If Isaac stays healthy, this dude is a 8th man. What horrible value for 8th pick in this draft.

He has a chance to be pretty good... I just don't like where he went to college.

Streaky shooter
