Re: WELCOME TO ORLANDO FRANZ WAGNER
My only real criticism of him remains his hesitance on shooting open jumpers. He passes up some good looks and tries to drive instead, which a lot of times works out, but sometimes gets him in trouble.

I have found no obvious holes in his game. We'll see how he develops, we might be asking a bit too much, too soon from him.

on a bright note, the dude is pretty a beastly driving to the basket and has great form. If he starts using the pick and roll to open up a mid range game, he could easily become an allstar caliber scorer

Re: WELCOME TO ORLANDO FRANZ WAGNER
Wagner is a stud. I was disappointed in him in summer league & pre season but boy gas he flipped the script.
For him to be a high level player he needs to continue hitting wide open shots( specifically 3). And he needs to really work on his pull game off the bounce( ala Ingram last night). He uses he pick and roll really well but doesn't seem confident shoot off the dribble and either tries to get to the rim or pass out to an open man. When he should just outline up for a 15 footet sometimes.
I think if he can improve on those 2 things he is a sure fire all star as long as he keeps doing all the other stuff he is already doing.
In all he has been supremely impressive and he has been my fav young player since oladipo.( I like issac defense but his offensive game left a lot to be desired not to mention injuries).

Franz should work on his mid-range game. He needs a pull up 12' shot like Ingram had last night.

Re: WELCOME TO ORLANDO FRANZ WAGNER
No complaints with Franz. I would love for him to find spots where it lowers the difficulty level of the shots he gets.
I hope Fultz can set him up better but Fultz is coming back from major injury.
Franz does great in high difficulty situations but his percentages and offense will improve when he can get easy baskets 50% of the time.

Franz compared to Giannis.

Insane breakout performance even in a loss. Giving me flashbacks of Steph announcing himself as a superstar despite the loss at MSG

Not expected at all, what a great draft pick!
I just hope that Suggs follows a similar path.

This isn't anything more than a wonder:
Do you we would have gotten to this point if J.I. was healthy from the start of the year? Fultz & MCW too.
I'm feeling like sitting those guys for as long as they've sat has really paid off. They would have for sure taken minutes away from Franz.

Not this point exactly, but for the most part yes.
The coaching staff would still be pushing him to be aggressive. Even with a healthy roster, we lack small forwards and we wouldn't have anyone that could get a bucket on demand, so Franz would still have the ball in his hands a lot, especially late in the game.
He just wouldn't be hitting 38 points in a game with Cole, Fultz, MCW, and Suggs jacking up shots.
