Magic cleanse
With Suggs dropping to us, I feel like this fan base got a huge cleanse.
seems like more than 95% of the fans are ecstatic about this pick. Much better than the Barnes/Kuminga split.
I know there can be debates on the talent level on this team, but there are a bunch of guys I just like.
Seeing Cole greet our draft picks.
I like RJ and Okeke's personalities, and I'm still a fan of Fultz and J.I. too.
Adding in a new coach, it is going to be enjoyable to watch this team grow.

If any of the "who would you take at 5" even included Suggs, it should be 99%. I do think Barnes will be good for Toronto, but Suggs is WAY WAY better for us and just about any other team. I can't imagine an unhappy Magic fan this morning.

A poster here had Suggs at #8 on their board, don't quite understand that one....Skybox wrote:JBSouthpaw wrote:With Suggs dropping to us, I feel like this fan base got a huge cleanse.

Re: Magic cleanse
It is VERY possible that Barnes ends up being better than Suggs but Suggs was clearly the better prospect today. How it all pans out depends on how much each player wants it.
I'm VERY happy with the outcome of this draft... other than trading away the 33rd pick when there was still 1st round talent sitting on the board.

How many media types said this today?
"IF Suggs is available at #5, you draft Suggs at #5".
There was no other choice. Suggs was easily BPA at #5. Will there be a player selected below him that has a better career? Yes it is probable. But knowing if it is Barnes or Moody, or whoever, nobody can know.
Heck: Wagner might have a better NBA career than Suggs, but Suggs is still the pick at #5.

Yes, a nice palate cleansing is what we need. I'm starting to forget the Vucevic era already.

But how do we go on without his scoring?

Re: Magic cleanse
is not just about a new era,is about the way they seem are building this new team.
i like it.
anthony, okeke, wagner and suggs are four complementary pieces who could fit well together.
hampton is a young raw piece with potential,if isaac recovers completely is a defensive force...by himself.
and we still have assets and time to develop players and build the team,we are just at the beginning.
feeling hope for the first time in years as a fan, such a good sensation

Suggs at #5 is the biggest no brainer since Wade and Trae were selected #5.

I feel like I'm wearing hardcore homer glasses bc like Otis Smith I really like this team lol. I love that fact we have 4 young guards that actually look like NBA players and MCW as a great cheap backup. If Mo and Wendell play to their strengths they're both good centers. The 4 spot will be stacked too once JI comes back at full strength and Okeke backs him up. Next year we'll draft an all star SF and I'll start getting my outfit ready for our championship parade

Re: Magic cleanse
The only bad thing to come out if this in the short term is the boost to wehams reputation because the Raptors pooped the bed, if the Raps take Suggs, today on this board is a different world.

Magic Cleanse
I ordered it a couple of months ago. It works well, everything is clean, but now I can't get the smell of onions out of my house. 3/5 stars

Agreed but luck is often needed regardless of how good or poor your FO is. I'll take it.

Re: Magic cleanse
So...I like our guard corps, but you still have Harris and his large expiring and a large TPE from Evan. Also, there are rumors of interest in TRoss. We didn't move any of the extra picks we got from Vuc and AG trades. We don't really have any bad money on our payroll atm...This offseason doesn't have to be over today.
I'm not even sure which position I'd want to shore up, we have great hopes for existing players at all 5 spots and more. Not saying we have a good team-just hope at multiple positions. I certainly wouldn't want to bring in any older vets, but perhaps a contender or near contender would like a finished product like Ross. Theoretically, we could do a sign and trade with Porter too...lots of angles. Give WeHam credit for creating a dynamic situation with multiple possible directions (including another year of patience).
What would be our needs?
I'd really like to keep Mo Wagner on the cheap. Would GSW take TRoss and WCJ for Wiseman? (ours are ready to contribute and Wiseman has the biggest upside-I think)?

I've been looking at GSW trade scenarios too. The thing is they have the highest payroll in the league at 161 million this upcoming season and that's without signing draft picks or free agents. Ross and WCJ for Wiseman would add another 8 million to GSW payroll.
I'm thinking something more on the line of Ross bacon and MCW in exchange for Wiggins. We could use the tpe and grease the wheels with a draft pick or 2. Hell give em a bunch of second rounders. We don't use them anyways.
GSW would free up like 15 million this way. Maybe they sign back iggy. He just got released. They have to resign curry next year too.

Why would you want Wiggins and his monster contract? He's owed 32m this year and nearly 34m the next.

You'd rather bring back ennis?
We could use a talented wing with some experience.

I'd be surprised if the made a big move like that until they find out what we have. They probably want Franz and Chuma to get minutes at the 3 to start the season.anothermagicfan wrote:thelead wrote:anothermagicfan wrote:

Re: Magic cleanse
We will probably lose a ton of games, don't get me wrong. A young team that's not good at shooting is probably not a recipe for immediate success.
But my excitement and interest in following the team and watching games have all increased significantly because of this draft.
