Best Magic Podcasts??
Greetings guys, I’ve just joined the 21st century and started listening to podcasts at work. I was wondering what you guys recommend for good ones. I have been listening to Locked On Magic, and I’m kinda sick of the host already. He’s just too repetitive. Any suggestions?
You look confused...let me fill you in.

I think his stuff is decent. Better during the year because there is more happening on a daily basis in season. I have caught on to the repetitive stuff at times as well.
I haven't found anything that is on a daily basis. There are a couple that are weekly.

I only listen to pod squad. Other than that, none.
Havent listened to knightro and soul.
But most of the magic podcasts Ive listened to have less insights and are more fan mAde and not journalists who knows some inside stuffs.
I’d rather read realgm instead ; )

I definitely agree with the repetitive stuff. For some reason (I don't know why) I don't like it. I feel he doesn't care at all.
There's much better information and analysis here on this forum than in his podcast.
It's the same case with orlandomagicdaily.com (written). It seems they need to write and doesn't even matter what. Just write the freaking daily article and it doesn't matter if you need to copy-paste yesterday's article with a different subject. Just publish it

Re: Best Magic Podcasts??
Yeah, to my knowledge the landscape is pretty barren for Magic-specific podcasts. So honestly it's more of a question of "what podcasts are there" before deciding which is best. I share some of the sentiments about locked on Magic, though I do still listen occasionally. It's good Soul and Knightro started making one. The only other ones that are active right now that I know about are the OZone podcast (https://theozonepod.com/) and I guess the team's own podcast.
In recent years I remember podcasts called Heart & Hustle (which are embedded in orlandopinstripedpost articles) and Do You Believe in Magic, but neither of those have published anything for this past season.

Thanks for the info guys. I’d listen to Soul and Knightro if you gentlemen could provide a name for the show. As for Locked On Magic, I’m generally ok with it but the host, whoever he is has a big case of tunnel vision. Like all through the draft coverage he said the same damn thing every episode. Draft Moses Moody, and “get your guy.” For that alone I’m glad we didn’t draft Moody just to shut that guy up. Plus he sounds straight out of high school so he’s just a little too meh. He’s intelligent but there’s some severe lack of charisma too. He reminds me of Scott Anez, who I can’t stand.

The Sixth man is the best Magic show imo. It's a little infrequent, and they are fans, but at least they aren't peddling the BS. Locked on seems like a show more about getting content out and website clicks more than about basketball. I couldn't stand the narrative the two main blog websites were pushing last offseason and throughout the year, You got to play to win, intangibles, how important Vuc was to the future, suggesting Magic could have home court in playoffs without the injuries, blah blah blah. Magic echo chambers and blatant pandering
Personally I mostly just listen to the national NBA shows these days, and am happy when they mention the Magic or Magic players. Ringer Mismatch, Ringer Wednesday show, Hollinger and Duncan, RealGm with Danny Leroux
I haven't checked out show the guys on this board have put out. I suspect they have a better handle on the sport and the team than most of the other Magic podcasts. I will have to give them a listen this week at work.

Re: Best Magic Podcasts??
I've recently started to listen to the Ozone podcast and The Sixth Man Show. Not a podcast guy, but enjoy listening/watching both of those from time to time.
Also listened to the first two episodes of Soul's and Knightro's podcast - 12 to 1 as well.

Re: Best Magic Podcasts??
I listen to quite a few Magic podcasts (in no particular order):
- The Sixth Man Show (fan podcast)
- The Ozone Podcast (also a fan podcast)
- Orlando Magic PodSquad (team-based)
- Penny For Your Thoughts (done by the guys from OrlandoMagicUK. They have some really good guests including Magic personalities from past and present. Whilst I am from the UK and so open to accusations of bias having been a guest, I do think the guys do a great job especially being thousands of miles away from Orlando).
- Locked on Magic (the host is Orlando Magic Daily’s Philip Rossman-Reich. I think he does a good job but I don’t listen to every podcast and I agree it can be repetitive but I don’t blame Phil for that as it can be hard to think of new things to say when you’re producing a daily podcast).
- Penny and Pops podcast (hosted by AdamtheGreek from these very boards. Again, fan-based).
Hope that helps!

The one and only Modcast is the best I’ve heard, even if I’ve read a lot of their thoughts already as posts on the board, it sounds fresh, well researched and good listening.

Further plug for the Orlando Magic UK podcast ‘Penny For Your Thoughts’.
The latest one had Darrell Armstrong as a guest.
