Official Magic Board 21-22 Divisive Topic
I can already see these topics bubbling up in summer league threads, so let's all predict where the battle lines are drawn. And we know they will be so no one saying that we should all just agree this is a developmental year - arguments are what boards exist for!

Re: Official Magic Board 21-22 Divisive Topic
I voted for the Center position, as there is no clear good answer as both players are flawed, and there is a lot of "eye of the beholder" potential value to each of them. So with no real objective measure of value and passions strong on both sides around Bamba, I think that battle rages until a trade or free agency decision is made at the deadline or post season

Re: Official Magic Board 21-22 Divisive Topic
Voting for the only thing that I think matters at this point:
Pairing Suggs with players that make sense and can grow into the future back court.
• Bamba and Carter will play out regardless.
• Wagner simply isn't a wasted pick because nobody would know in 21-22, as he is a 19 year old rookie.
• Not enough quality vets for them to have more minutes than the youth. Only Suggs shouldn't be hindered.
• There isn't a precedent for Mosely to win-now. He needs to develop the youth. No chance he's in over his head.
• Magic wont need to sit players to lose and don't need to actively tank.

I hear ya but that's not how these boards work

There will be huge side taking in the center battle. There are already people after one SL game b**ching about the Wagner pick over Bouk, Sengun, Moody, etc., vets getting ANY minutes will piss some people off, people will complain about the coach's rotations and line up choices no matter what he does, and of course any win will be tantamount to self immolation to the tanking truthers

They can't play RJ, Suggs, and Cole together, and doing so is a total developmental waste of time.

Re: Official Magic Board 21-22 Divisive Topic
I'm not very interested into that topic in particular, but i think most scouts and GMs share sentiment that Magic could easly trade down and still draft Wagner. Especially because even at 13# both Sengun and Moody were still aveliable.
Center position will probably result most comments, but if we are 100% honest about topic, Magic can just as easly draft center in 2022 lottery or outright go and offer 4 years $ 60-80M contract to Mitchell Robinson who is UFA and nobody will even remember Wendell and Bamba existed.

Re: Official Magic Board 21-22 Divisive Topic
The one I'm most interested in is Bamba vs Carter Jr. vs anyone else.
The one folks will care more about is Suggs vs everyone else. I actually think Fultz and Suggs are going to complement each other well. It's Anthony and Hampton that I'm not as sold will fit in as well.
Everyone will inevitably hate Mosely. He's going to lose a lot and people are going to be irrationally upset about his rotations. He's kind of set up for failure in Year 1.
People will be upset because someone drafted after Wagner will be really good. Everyone wants instant gratification out of rookies, but it's few and far between where you get that.
We're not going to need to sit players. We're going to be bad.

Many great options but I’ll go with Bamba/WCJ as the topic that generates the most heat.

Orlando cannot carry all its PGs. There will be a trade and I am sure many here want that to be Fultz.

Ifor one look forward to this. Do they inspire each other? Will both get better? In not, then what? This is all interesting stuff.

Cole, if he hinders the development of Suggs & RJ.

Jaden McDaniels to Orl
Magic could use young 6'8"+ wing with guard skills
Minny could use young backup offensive PG behind Russell

I would love that. Can't see Minnesota doing something like that. They like McDaniels.

Why? Culver has probably been worse on defense than Cole. Must be the 24.5% from 3 that is so sexy?
At least Cole will get a 2nd contract.

No chance, Mike Schmitz said in podcast, i believe zach lowes? That Memphis traded up to #10 for either Giddey or Wagner. And he said that it was more likely that Wagner was going to go 7, 8, or 9.

Yah the front office seemed legitimately excited he was still there at 8. No way he would have got by Sacramento at #9.
