Heading towards a historic losing streak

We ended last season on a 7 game losing streak and have been clobbered in the first 2 games, team looks completely incompetent. I can't see this team winning a game anytime soon. Team record is 19 consecutive losses, NBA record is 28. I see the team record being in jeopardy as we are halfway there. Yes or no, this team "beats" the team record?

If that means that we will get the 1st pick I'm all for it.
The thing is that there are many factors that could affect it.
Playing with or without Harris and Okeke right now would be crucial to determine that.

I'm okay with a long losing streak. I just want to see individual players get better.

If we get some of the injured players back soon, I don't see it happening. We don't have that much talent, but if most are healthy we aren't "20 successive losses" level of bad. But if we have to play Cole 30+ minutes per game for the next 20 games and give significant minutes to scrubs like Mo Wagner, it may happen.

Even if Harris and Okeke come back this week I don't see them being enough of a difference maker to prevent a loss before the team record.

I was just thinking about this before logging in. If the Magic lose the 28 Oct game against the Hornets, a 20-game losing streak THIS YEAR is plausible. Add that to the 7 of last, a 27-gane losing streak can be forecasted.

To keep that from occurring, Orlando needs to try to win and every game. A fluke win will come, and Orlando really, really needs that for moral purposes.

The thing is that from after the Holidays the magic is plausibly a 50/50 club. The team will be healthy and the competition less severe. But for now, wow the losses will pile on.

I still like the Magic for 21 wins even if the team loses 27 in a row, I guess is my point.

Pretty much mark : Pistons, Cavs, Wizards, Rockets names on Magic schedule .
We don't play OKC until end of March so battle royal among tankers won't happen any time soon.

This isn’t college where you build through recruiting and style points matter.

I care about seeing progress (I already do from Franz and Bamba).

If we lose a lot and end up with a top pick or even THE top pick to add another elite talent to build with them boo ya!!!

We are missing Fultz, Isaac, Chuma and Harris. Chill out.

I'm keen to see how much Cole plays once Fultz (let alone Harris once he's healthy again soon) is brought back into the fold

I’m keen to see if Cole remembers I said no mustard on my burger.

Man... I still have flashbacks on that 19game losing streak... It broke Tmac's back probably literally and figuratively.

I certainly think this team can have some long losing streaks this year. Especially now without Chuma, Issac or Fultz playing and Suggs being as green as my front yard. I don’t think they’ll lose 19 straight.

It’s funny reading all the pessimistic and the “worst team ever” stuff. Isn’t this what most people around here wanted? This is the hard part of rebuilding, being at the absolute bottom, and the Magic are going to be there this year. The good news is we can look forward to being in the top 5 lottery again.

Remember last season OKC was basically cheating the tankathon by trotting out a G-League team. They still won a game. Anything can happen, so it's more likely that the Magic win a random one sometime soon. The starting backcourt won't go 7-31 every game. (I hope.)

If we end up with the worst record, we're guaranteed a top 4 pick.

It's two games, one of which was against a playoff team that has improved. Obviously we haven't played well, but we shouldn't be surprised nor worried. This season is about player development and hopefully figuring out who some of our core pieces will be. While Suggs' shooting has been dreadful, he is doing other parts of the game well and he's not going to keep shooting this poorly. Franz has been better than most of us probably thought and Bamba is starting to look like the player we hoped he could be. I'm disappointed by the margin of loss but it's only two games. We knew we would be a bottom five team. Getting JI back will probably make the biggest difference. We're probably not winning 30 games this season, but we're also not going to lose 70. Win 25-30, get a top pick and hopefully we get the last big piece we need to maybe build a contender.

We will see in the near future. The season just started and two of our best players are out right now. When they come back, we'd be better.

I know this is a development season. But we will not lose on purpose. They play to their best and grow game to game.

We will see...

And hopefully that last piece isn't a big man
