Magic is entering a new era with the teams rebuilding plans. The whole reason of torning the team down with AG, Evan and Vuc was because we wanted to avoid mediocrity and have a championship ready team.

We are having a new head coach and I respect him a lot.

Should Magic rebrand? I am not sure when the right timing is. But should we do it soon enough?

Some of the article says Magic already have that discussion internally. But it is only a discussion.

Not whilst we kind of suck, no.

What constitues a rebrand? I don't believe they should change their name or colors. The uniforms are fine, it would feel like we'd be changing just for the sake of change. A uniform change just for the sake of it isn't necessarily the worst thing in the world, but it just feels to me like the rebrand talk (whatever "rebrand" even means) is just people having the consumer mindset of always wanting "new stuff."

today is the 22nd anniversary of Orlando Magic. It has been a long way definitely.

That was terrible! I'm glad I didn't tune in until the '92 season, so I got to miss that introduction.

Cool to see that Nick Anderson was the very first ever introduced Magic player.

I just want us going back to embracing the fact that we're the Magic.

The first two logos were awesome. I love how the second one was an evolution of the first.

Then we went all modern and classic overnight. Didn't they learn after our third jersey design that the timeless design isn't Orlando at all?

They haven't updated the jerseys or logo in over a decade. It's well overdue. They have the perfect jerseys and logo sitting in their back pockets and they don't even know it. Just go back to the OG uniforms and logo and court and never change it again.

They shouldn’t rebrand completely. I would like the logo to be redone.

The unis are whatever but the current logo is abysmal. Among the league's worst.

I remember hearing on a Podcast (Sixth Man Show maybe?) that the reason they don't go back to the original pinstripes is down to a contractual issue with the league and Nike - I can't remember the exact reason but it was something like throwback jerseys can only be used every 5 years.

I assume it's to do with Nike maximizing revenue from the City editions etc, though I do think in our case reverting to the pinstripes would be a huge revenue opportunity for them, especially if they did it for a single season (35 year anniversary season maybe?).

The old school pinstripes by a mile...I don't understand all this orange and grey crap. I know it's great to sell more jerseys but...

I recall reading the same thing about contracts and use of old logos and jerseys. I just think it's a wasted opportunity. It's a perfect logo and jersey. It's iconic. There's an aesthetic argument. They'll sell far more merchandise than they do now. So there's an economic argument. I'm not sure what they see in the current brand. They really love that secondary logo (the ball with the stars following it). They've had so many lazy jerseys where they just slap that on a blank jersey and call it a day.






This is Microsoft Paint level of effort.

They've had even bigger misses over the last decade. I think these are among of the worst jerseys in the history of the franchise.



And nothing will ever be as bad and boring as these things. I still blame these for T-Mac leaving.

Not many want a rebrand on here. Most want the retro pinstripe Magic jerseys (black and blue especially) and logo as permanent instead, me included.
