What if it is Jaden Ivey?

I don't know what to say. I, personally, want a Top 5 pick bad. So we will have a chance at talents like Ivey, Chet, Jabari and Bencharo. But among all these top 4 talent, I really want Jaden Ivey. The 2nd last game against Rutgers, Ivey went to the line 18 times and shot 15 out of 18. I know everyone is concerned with his shooting, especially 3 pt shots. But he is shooting 36.8 percent from 3 all season.
The biggest thing for this Magic team's rebuild is getting a star. And Jaden Ivey can provide Orlando Magic something we never had before, the ability to create shots and become a consistent factor scoring the ball. I think Ivey is going to be a star.
He kinda reminds me of Ja Morant. He is not exactly that but he has potential especially with his shots.
He is my favorite player in this draft. He can get to the hoop relentlessly and consistently plus his drive is so explosive and quick. Also he can do that consistently.
And, I know this may sound interesting. Vuc has contract with Chicago Bulls until 2022/23 season and then he'd become an Unrestricted Free Agent.
Considering Orlando Magic is not going to spend too much money this offseason, I am floating the idea of signing Vuc back for Orlando as a Free Agent next offseason, when we have cap space
It also aligns the idea of drafting Ivey so we do not add an extra big man. Vuc loves Orlando and he grows up in Orlando. At the beginning when we got him, he is no where near close to who he is today. I think we are going to have enough cap space to sign him.
We can start Wendell at 4 and Vuc at 5.
Anyway, it is just a possibility. I know we already have too many Guards on the roster with RJ, Cole, Fultz, Suggs, Harris and Ross. We may don't need Ivey. But we get the BPA and figure out the rotation later. We can also play 3 guard lineup with Franz at 4 and Dell at 5.
But this is just pure speculation by me. Hope you like it!

I honestly would stop following this team immediately if they ever brought Vuc back. Worst idea ive ever heard.

Wendell as a 4? Are you smoking?
Wendell and Vuc would only work back in the 90s.

What about Wendell and Bamba combo, which is now working for us?

I’ve really started to think Ivey is a guy the Magic should focus on. He’s a scorer and he can be the starting 2 this team is missing. I’d be happy with him or Smith in the draft.
As for Vuc, I’m a huge proponent of him. He was fantastic for a long time here. I think I’d love him back as a flanker for our star players, but not as the main event like he was before. And certainly not for a huge contract.

I mean how well is it working exactly? The Magic are 15-47 and the Bamba/Carter pairing has a -7.2 NET.
The Magic have just a -1.4 NET with Carter on the court and Bamba off.

I personally like the lineup tonight with Cole, Suggs, RJ, Franz and Wendell on the court. That is the 3 guard lineup. Among the bench or the rotation we have 4 guards coming off the bench tonight with Ross and Harris.
It is a logjam we have to fix.

It's more on Bamba than Wendell.
Bamba has once again one of worst net ratings on a team. Witch is only suprising to people who blamed everybody but him for his shotcomming past 3 years.

This is mostly semantics, but when they share the floor it’s Carter executing the duties of a traditional C and Bamba for the most part executes the duties of a PF despite them being listed the opposite.
Carter is the one involved in just about all of the screening and dribble hand off action offensively, which is typically what centers do for most teams.
Carter is also always the one tasked defensively to defend any big the opponent has who has any sort of back to the basket ability.

Bamba is usually playing PB position, short for Primaballerina.

If the Bulls can remain as competitive as they have been then Vuc would be mad to leave them to return to us. He’s a big part of one of the top teams in the east and got the support around him to remain highly competitive.
The Magic need to find the ‘next Vuc’, who has been able to develop on another team and then move to/get poached by an actually competitive team. I’m not sure who that is, though.

No sir.
Look at the matchups. Its Bamba who defends the 4, and sometimes even defended by wings when opponents play small ball.

Hopefully not Mo Bamba

Ivey just had 22 points, 5 rebs and 5 assists. He is 3 for 7 in 3 pt land but he shot 3 for 9 from Free Throw line

Ivey's game Saturday at 2pm against Indiana. Gonna be fun.
The biggest thing in getting Ivey is how are we going to figure out our guard rotation.
Most likely, Harris and Ross are gone. Harris is expiring and Ross has one more year.
And if we roll the 3 guard lineup like we did against Indiana and Houston, we may find enough PT for all these guards next season.
But our 3 pt is going to struggle with Fultz, Suggs and Ivey on the floor together

I am dead-against Ivey on this roster. Orlando does not need a 4th combo-guard.
As to Vučević, he might resign in about 5 years on a 1-year retirement tour deal. I am all for that. A single contract takes him to #2 in total Magic games played. Heck: he could even Udonis Haslem role from there to become the overall #1 Magician in games played. But this is a 2027 conversation. For today: Vučević is chasing rings only. His agent would not answer a Magic telephone call.
