Dowtin's contract did expire.

I'm happy for Cannady though. That was a brutally bad injury he suffered last year. Glad to see he's getting another cup of coffee in the NBA.

This contract takes Cannady to the season's conclusion.

So: the 2021/22 Suggs campaign look complete.

I think it is good to showcase different players to close out the season. It maximizes the scouting potential for these 450-550 level players.

Also for the pro-tankers: Dowtin is starting to understand Orlando's system. Cannady will actually be a worse player from a team-unity perspective. Nothing on him per se. But change is hard and ten days is about the amount of time needed to adapt to a new offensive sets.

We have same system in Lakeland, Cannady is well accustomed to it.
In the end i think its more morale based decision. We rewarded our guy.

If he continues to shoot the 3 as well as last night, keep him on the end of the bench.
