We need to use our draft capital (second rounders) to find a guy like Grant Williams. Watching him and PJ Tucker out there, both just look like it's miserable to play against.

I love watching them play. Unorthodox physiques, but they’ve got the hustle to just make it work. They’re like British bulldogs.

Yea you need one player who has very little talent but pours his heart out.

I miss Bo Outlaw and Darrell Armstrong.

Here's hoping that Cannady is that guy.

I think "miserable to play against" is REAL and an excellent point. Maybe the biggest reason that Chet's not on top of my list - as tough minded as he may be, Paolo has the body to "punish" defenders all night and draw fouls on them at the same time. These guys are still so young (draftees), they still can learn how to use their bodies. Chet may be mentally ahead, but the others will catch up and have physical tools to weaponize that Chet lacks and doesn't look like he'll ever have.

"Don't be any fun to play against" was my plea to my kids when I coached - I would throw stupid defensive swarms and schemes (that would never work anywhere else  ) and got them to enjoy the taste of their opponents' frustration and the mistakes it caused. In the NBA, this is compounded in the playoffs, where game after game, guys stay up at night thinking about their sore bodies and more to come tomorrow. Nobody wants to feel Marcus Smart's forearm in their back again and again. My son played HS ball with Ray Lewis' kid and his physicality just ratcheted up the defensive intensity whenever he stepped on the court. He wasn't a great basketball player (he was a football machine), but he was just made out of something from another planet. At maybe 5'9, he would box out 6'5 Centers practically into the stands. ...Even a skinny Isaac and Jabari might cause those nightmares with their length and speed - making guards feel like they're in some haunted forest of arms and hands on the perimeter...or under giant octopus attack

There's a great video out there of Marcus Smart, Tatum, and Jaylen Brown playing one on one after practice. Brown and Tatum are like giggling kids (they were younger at the time), but much smaller Smart is just bullying them and making them throw up prayers rather than try to get by him. Another example was Bamba vs Ayton in some HS camp and Bamba is so mentally beaten by Ayton's physical superiority that he's just passively trying silly up and unders, etc while Ayton just Shaqs him down and lays it in repeatedly...like boys vs men.

Interesting that the four remaining teams are the best at defending the 3 pt. line. They all have bigs that guard the perimeter.

Herb Jones last year is like this that i was hoping beyond hope we would take a chance on instead of punting

Horford, who like CP3, was an untradable, dead in the water, washed up vet a few years ago is showing how BBIQ and savvy play cannot be underestimated. We need that kind of vet difference-maker to make everyone look better and smarter with his example.

Guys like him are so easily disregarded, even after the team's success...I guarantee you the Coach knows.

I'll say I thought he was almost washed up and no one would touch that contract. and he is definitely a key player for Boston. also someone who kept adding to his game and added a reliable 3 pt shot as he turned 30. never really a star, but someone who just makes the right play.

Me too. Same with CP3...I'm definitely not claiming I saw the value but I get it now.

It's crazy to think back to the Chris Paul and Westbrook trade, and to think how much the Rockets had to add to Chris Paul to get Westbrook in return. Father time might be finally catching up with Paul, but he met with Westbrook first.

Especially bad while Westbrook is still on that deal. OKC was able to move Paul for asset(s) and Westbrook has been moved on twice now for varying degrees of crap. Really goes to show that any contract in the NBA is tradable...well maybe not the 2022-23 version of Westbrook.

Looking forward for tonight's game. Heat & Celtics is excellent series and it will hopefully go 6 or 7

i see it ending in 5, 6 if Heat are lucky. too many mismatches for Celtics. they have more overall talent.

OMG… local ABC cut away for the game to repeatedly say that there is a tornado warning for over 20 minutes …. And adding nothing else…
