They had Suggs playing with a stress fracture that required surgery???

You can't write this stuff.

I'm not liking what I'm seeing. Ankle injuries are hard to overcome.

I'm starting to hate this team.....
They pretty much said "oh he had something going on but we had no idea how to figure out so it turns out hey its a fracture"

So when we kept sitting players we had Suggs out there with a bad ankle injury?!

So this guy was playing through injuries his entire rookie season and our “fans” can’t wait to call him a bust.
This guy is a competitor and I can’t stand how player injuries are managed in Orlando.

Seems to be a running theme in Orlando. Players get injured, play hurt, team doctors/trainers cant seem to figure what is happening, and them boom surgery, out many months....

Can we please have a competent medical staff in this organization for once?

This one is very bizarre and concerning... How does the team not detect a stress fracture for probably 2 months he was playing on? That's freaking crazy.

Are fans calling him a bust? His defense is elite, and he hasn't had the reps most guards have had. He's going to be great.
Maybe it''s not next year, but he's going to put up 18/7/7 while making all-defensive teams before the end of his rookie deal.

I speculated that he possibly played injured hence why he looked bad. I guess I was right…
This team needs to have to take a hard look in the mirror because this is disgraceful. There’s no way he should’ve been playing on an injury in what was always going to be a losing season. Teams might ask players to do that during a crucial time in a season if they are winning, but not when we were losing.
We could’ve signed any extra body when they found out he had the bad ankle.
I also wouldn’t be surprised if Cole was also still banged up.
It’s things like this that make me understand why people are pessimistic about us.

If it wasn't extremely sad it'd be funny. This team....

Aww man does this mean we won't see he again for 2 seasons? So the Magic are quick to leave JI out for forever but not Suggs our 4th pick rookie? Where do I apply to be part of their medical team, I have zero knowledge on sports medicine but apparently that's not a requirement lol.

Kidding aside I hope it's real minor and also the reason his shot was so off. Hopefully he'll be back for summer league and then goes on to win MIP next season *fingers crossed*

Last year Cole was playing with a broken rib. Didn't he find out about it on his own?

I believe you are right. Our players have a better chance doing the WebMD thing instead of relying on the Magic medical staff....

Let me, as the 17th poster on this thread, be the first to admit that I have no f**king idea what the severity or prognosis is
...but I do know that many joint surgeries for high level athletes are largely preemptive cleanups.

Whenever he was on the floor I feel like all I read about was how historically bad he was from 3. I already know the kid is going to be great. I still believe he’s got a Chauncey/Holiday/Smart level impact to his game. Not all prospects come into the league with an
elite level skill. His defense is at that level already.

Sounds about right for this club. I hate to say this but somehow he will miss the first 3 months and discover something new.
