Victor Oladipo? Could we give him a chance?

First of all, I can't stand Miami Heat and I do not believe in so called "Heat Culture"

But I was rooting for Victor all the way. Victor had 15 points, 3 STLs, 2 Blocks and 2 assists Game 4 vs 76ers. I think Heat HC trusted him as a solid rotational player as he played 32 Mins that game.

I am a big fan of him. If you are the FO, will you pursue Victor Oladipo as a Free Agent by offering him a good contract. Maybe MLE? Maybe something around 8-10M per year guaranteed? He could be the veteran presence for this young team as we are getting even younger after this 2022 NBA Draft. He could be a leader for us.

How much Cap Space do we have this summer?

We can have over 28M in cap space, more than enough to get Dipo

If we draft jabari, i would go after dipo, he ll be a perfect sg vet, he could share his experience of going through a rebuild to our young players

Can I and-1 every word of this.

(( and have you and I ever been so aligned in a previous off-season )).

Smith and Oladipo would make the 2022/23 Magic very interesting. Add a reup for M-Wagner and make a qualifying offer to Bamba, and the Magic becomes:

Fultz/Anthony/Cannady
Oladipo/Suggs/Hampton
F-Wagner/Okeke/Ross
Isaac/Smith
Carter/Bamba/M-Wagner

I like this team.

:)

I don't think Oladipo will come to Orlando even for a lot of money.
He will go to a contender and try to chase a ring.

...and that's two significant but relatively risk-free moves (unless you overpay or overcommit years to Vic-which they wouldn't). ORL would still have significant cap available and chips to play.

didnt he turn $112mil from Indy to move on. I dont think he takes an MLE deal. he is 30, looking at his last chance for any big money

I agree this year, we are pretty close :-), the last few years I was very aligned with Skin

I really like this team

Oladipo's experience would really help our young guard, I m pretty sure they would learn a lot from him, like the things he learnt when he moved to OKC

As for Smith, he is very young so he would benefit from sharing PT with JI
If JI cant be healthy, Jabari get the starting position
If JI is healthy, Jabari can learn from him and get enough minutes to take his game to the next level

This team would make the playing for SURE

Yes, he surely regret passing on INDI's max contract, he wont settle for tiny money this time, he now knows how an injury can take money away.

We are the only team that can offer him a starting position and a contract over the MLE

Welcome back DIPO

No, thanks. He's about to be overpaid by some team and hope it's not us. He's still quite injury prone, he's 30 already, and he's an average shooter relying a lot on athleticism, so he's about to hit the wall very soon.

I don’t hate the idea of bringing Victor Oladipo back on a reasonable deal. We need a good 2 guard pretty bad and I hated trading him for Ibaka years ago. I’d be all for like a two year deal while keeping our cap flexible for bigger deals down the road. As another poster said, this team needs a leader, and Vic could definitely be that.

Hasnt dipo basically been talking about playing for miami his whole career?
What makes you think he would leave them to come back to the team that traded for basically nothing?

Overpaying is optional...not a Weltman problem

You can't overpay for a player if you don't have cao space

TBF... a lot of players ( ahem ahem ) do say " I wanna retire here " a lot. As to the truth of that... time will tell. LOL

I agree with you...I was just reinforcing that signing a guy doesn't mean you overpay. Weltman has been fiscally sound, IMO.

The Heat have his bird rights.

Oladipo makes zero sense for Orlando.
