I'm totally fine seeing if this kid has anything next year as a bench forward.
If he does, great. If he doesn't, you cut him loose no harm, no foul.

I'm expecting NOTHING from him...but I'll be happy if he's a good story. ORL really has quite a few dicey things that could, collectively, go really well. Add Bol to the pile of "what ifs".
Isaac's health & 3pt shot, Fultz's health & 3pt shot, Suggs' handle & shot, RJ's bbiq, Cole's efficiency, Okeke's consistency...I like this for a rebuilding team, lots of stories-some of which will turn out well...hopefully more than not

Bol might be the "Holmgren" we already have

If he had Chets, motor, playmaking, handles, defensive awareness/desire, IQ, and ability to read and react to PnR coverage on defense. He might be a nice floor spacer and deterrent defensively though. It doesn’t hurt.

Bol is worth a flier. If Mosley and the gang can get him playing passionately then you never know what you have with him. He could be impactful one day.

I don't think he'll be as good as Nuggets Bol but hopefully he can replace Bamba's production

If Mose could get Bamba to play with some passion, lets see what he can do with this kid.

He'll be a great backup for Chet.
Nobody would notice a difference when Bol substitutes for Chet.
We'll still need a large & heavy bruiser for some situations though.

I considered the Bol Bol trade acquisition a genius move at the time and I still think he can be an 8th or 9th man for us on a contending type team.

The thing about Bol for me is that, even though he has good arm mechanics on his jumper, he is just so awkward with his footwork on a catch and release. It is the strangest form outside of watching his father (or Bill Laimbeer).

Jonathon Simmons and what became the 21st pick in the 20202 draft for Markelle Fultz: these retread trades could be Orlando's thing.

I remember everyone saying he plays like Durant when he got drafted.

Durant is the most pure scorer to ever come out of the NCAA. That part of his game clearly translated to the NBA. There has not yet been "the Next Durant" at the youth level (NCAA or Euros, etc.)

Nice shooting form and moves well for his height. Similar to Bamba I think being ultra skinny/weak makes you lose energy really quickly when things get physical in a real game. I don't have high hopes with that frame...but it doesn't hurt to throw him out there and see what happens.

I know with Bol his loss of value was mostly because of injury, but I still can’t believe Bamba was a 6th pick. I feel like you could get any Bol, Mitchell Robinson, Naz Reid type of player for dirt cheap in the NBA.
But when the longest measured wingspan in NBA history is staring at you, you gotta take him I guess.
