(2) 2nd Round Picks

To me it is very obvious we will not be selecting 3 rookies in this draft. I may be wrong. I think most of the board is pretty set on trying to package the second rounders to move up in the late 1st. Maybe even add Ross in and move up a few extra slots.

What does the board think is a realistic trade if we consolidate the 2 second rounders to move up? If we add Ross?

I know we arent a stacked team but I am unsure even if we moved up and grabbed a 1st rounder - he would even play at all. I'm definitely a minority with this take but I think Isaac starts ahead of whoever we take 1st opening night.

Maybe we pick an international guy for a draft nd stash, i don't know.

But as usual, I'm not holding my breath for our 2nd rounders; and I'm sure as hell not staying up all night to see them live during draft night.

the 2 2nd + Ross maybe gets you up in the 15-20 range, at best. But for the right guy I'd definitely want our front office to do that.

Lol, isaac starting. I will be surprised if he is even on he court. And the team still needs talent that a 1st round pick can fight for minutes. Not starter minutes, unless he shows out, but bench minutes are available and bench players able to be beaten out.

I can't imagine the Magic playing Isaac more than 20 mpg right off the bat. I'd rather keep him at 20 mpg or less until we hopefully make the postseason.

There's plenty of posters here that would argue that any of Cole, RJ, and Okeke could be added to a trade to move up. I think they all stay and I see the 2 second round picks being packaged with Ross to either move up into the first round. Or maybe we package Ross the 2 picks and a future first round pick(we own all of ours plus Chicago and Denver in future drafts) to jump up around the top 10 to get a guy. My guess is we kick the can down the road and send Ross and the 2 picks to a contender for another first round pick next year so we can have 3 picks to use next year to get our guy to fill whatever is our biggest need- probably shooting guard?

76ers seems to make a helluva lot of sense.

TRoss & 35 for Danny Green & 23.

We get a vet who likely won’t play any minutes but can be a head to chat with 76ers take a 1 year flier on TRoss & a non guaranteed salary.

People keep talking about packaging our high 2rps to move into the first...I get the logic and the value questions, but does that ever happen?

Hammond mentioned it. Read it as: "We have no interest in using both of those picks."

The only real question is... does anyone else want to use both of those picks?

Lakers have been mentioned as wanting to buy a 2nd rounder. So we trade up with one and sell the other to the Lakers.

So, I’ll ask again…does any team trade a good frp for multiple lesser srp’s? Unless it was strictly financial (no guaranteed deal or draft n stash, etc), why would a team choose quantity over quality in a sport where only 5 guys play - you’d have to really believe the draft flattened out.

Any historical cases? In the NFL, this stuff is routine, but it seems to me that it wouldn’t be as easy as some here seem to think.

I think Hammond did say in an interview that they teams may not want the guaranteed salary.

Chet Holmgren + David Roddy = the ultimate awkward but talented body type tandem. I want to see it in a bad way.

When you look at the list of workouts it's really dominated by scoring 2/3 types with more years under their belts. Some might need a trade-up to reach and many should be there at #32.

V few Center workouts, which is interesting given Bambas/Lopez' situation and could point to am expectation Mo will be extended ...

I’m still not sure who for #1, but I would like Roddy with one of our 2nds

The 2nd round picks will either be traded for cash considerations, or used in a move up situation.

We all know the front office's history with second round picks.

Let’s not get our hopes up again thinking they’ll actually use the scouts to select someone at #32 and #35. This is a draft tradition at this point for them.

Meanwhile, I’m watching a finals with guys like R.Williams, D.White, G.Williams, J.Poole, G.Payton ii. All going in the late 20’s, 30’s, or completely undrafted getting serious minutes. Why can’t this FO figure this out?

Disagree. We are trading up or using at least one of them. It's already been rumored we are looking to trade up, or actually use them this year.

They’re one package I’d be very happy with. If it was Jabari + Roddy I’d be happy too, but it wouldn’t have the same novelty and less likely they’d be on the court together at the same time.
