That might be a good trade here. A team that has a larger than Ross' contract could trade for him the 32 + 35 for a mid-20s. THis is how a team that could use Ross could see him as a cap-savings.

Duncan Robinson from Miami as an example. Miami saves millions this year, gets out of Robinson's contract. And gets two probable role players for a player that should help their bench. Orlando gets Robinson as its new starting SG. And at 27, Walker Kessler, John Butler, or Jaylin Williams could be brought in to solidify the depth chart with Bamba's probable exit.

Whether exactly this, it is the kind of move I can imagine.

..

Robinson s contract is very very bad

..

I don't want to affect our 2023 cap space

If we have a Cleveland type of jump this season, you can be sure that FA will consider us next summer

This is the argument for "don't trade Ross".

Terrence Ross with one of our 2nd round picks to Sixers for Danny Green and their 1st makes too much sense not to happen.

With the Sacramento Kings looking to add Kevin Looney in free agency, it's obvious the Kings want a starting caliber center to go with Sabonis.

Could Orlando offer T Ross, Denver's future pick, #35 pick in 2022 NBA Draft and Wendell Carter Jr. For #4 pick!

http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=y65yrsrw

This trade would help out our young core with Harrison Barnes championship experience plus he's and expiring contract to help our cap space in future!

Not to mention we can get the 4th pick Chet Holmgren, assuming he slides in draft due to not giving teams his medical records.

Not sure why they would do that.

This is what happens when you hold onto an asset like Ross for too long with zero plan in place.

Maybe the FO will figure this out eventually.

I think the Magic have been holding out for a 1st for the last 2 seasons. Nobody bit, so now it is down to 2 (2nd) Rounders.

How about this:

DEN trades SG Will Barton (1-yr $14.5M) and pick #30
ORL trade SG Terrance Ross (1-yr 11.5M), PG RJ Hampton ($2.5M) and pick #35

ORl gets the better player and a good locker room guy on a 1-yr, move up to the 30th pick for a player who doesn't want to be in the rebuild. DEN gets a better defender, a backup G, and still gets a high 2nd to get a backup C with.

That seems like a realistic deal.

I hope the Magic can get one of the picks in the early-to-mid 20's for him. He could be a servicable bench player for many contenders around the league.

attach 35 to him if it will get a 20's 1st.

Ross + 32 + 35 for a mid-20s is a good deal for Orlando and for Ross.

..

Arguably #32 has more value than #25.

Because of the salary cap or the way ORL drafts ?

only if the player you want is there.

would you rather have Vernon Cary JR, or Desmond Bane. KZ Okpala or Jordan Poole. Jevon Carter of Anfernee Simons, Davon Reed or Derrick White/Josh Hart. Zubac or Siakam/Dejounte Murray.

So yes, money wise 32 may have more value as it isnt guaranteed, but the player has to be there. I would rather guarantee the smaller $$ and get the player you want, rather than take the left overs or punt the pick

They bring financial and contractual flexibility. This late into draft, I don't think there is any significant difference in chances that player selected #25 will make it to the league comparing to #32.

As far as to how we draft, common knowledge for these picks is that we don't draft. We will trade all them picks for cash considerations.

You either know to develop players or you don't. There have been quite a few difference makers drafted in second round like Draymond Green, let alone superstars such as Arenas or Jokic. But that is beside the point, difference in talent at draft time is moot this late.

i would disagree, as evidenced, but the past few years and the players i listed. we will just disagree on this
