THE ALTERNATIVE NON-SPOILER DRAFT NIGHT THREAD

Okay, I will be trying this again this year. I myself will be spoilered but will be modding this closely.
NO PICKS SHOULD BE REVEALED PREMATURELY. ONLY DISCUSS WHEN ANNOUNCED ON TV. Obviously some will get this before others but it'll only be like 30 or so seconds instead of 5 minutes ahead of time.
If you would like a relatively safe draft night experience, just hang out in this thread. Otherwise.. scroll at your own peril.
People spoiling will get a warning and then either a few day suspension if trying to do it on purpose.

Or better yet, do not visit Twitter or forums.

That's not entirely fair. It's kinda **** that people spoil things so I understand. Especially if you can't watch a show or movie right away. I'm not surprised that I'm spoiled but it's like .. damn.

No, it is only fair. I mean, you are trying to forbid people discussing Woj and Shams on a basketball forum, ffs. Let me be clear, I don't get kicks from spoiling, but man, your approach is less than ideal and I hope you realise. It is not that hard to buy a beer and popcorn and watch it on TV.

I am not trying to forbid anybody? There's literally two threads that are up lol.
If you have a problem with this, PM Howard Mass. Otherwise, just use the other thread that's up? It shouldn't be hard to ignore this thread for people that want to be spoiled. I myself am being spoiled.

its not that hard to come on a thread titled NON-SPOILER and not post spoilers. you can do that on practically every other thread tonight. just go on the other thread if you want to give spoilers. why ruin it for people who dont want spoilers, unless you just want to ruin it for people?

Right, warnings and suspensions are not to forbid, but to encourage discussion? Whatever, I just call it as I see it and will not be chiming in this thread further, Howard has his own set of eyes for all I care.

Good to know. I'm sure you're fun at parties.
And yes, if you spoil in a thread that is made for people to not get spoiled, I will certainly double down on that. In this thread. Not in the forum, not in the other threads, literally this specific thread. I don't think that's being overboard or harsh.

I'm not really understanding the appeal of learning things 3 mins. later than the rest of the world - even the ESPN viewers. Am I not understanding correctly? Is this like telling the sonogram tech "don't tell me, I want it to be an exploding golf ball reveal"?
Seriously, to each his own...just not sure what is forbidden-basically Woj bombs?

Why is this thread so difficult to grasp for people who want to experience it differently?

personally, i use twitter about 3 times a year. I wouldnt mind basketball discussion, but would rather watch the draft and see who is chosen, rather than get the first 5 selections before they are even made. if i wanted to know it all ahead of time, why even watch the draft? and i could go to the GB and get all the spoilers. but when i go to a thread that is described as a no-spoiler thread, why do people such as yourselves want to come in and do the opposite of what is expected?
i mean, why dont we just start 10 threads about OKC basketball right? who cares if this part is Orlando Magic when other people will talk about OKC?
oh, and my wife didnt want to know what were having, but still had to have the sonogram to make sure it was healthy. some people like a surprise. was a long few months with me knowing and her not

I'm 100% not interested in spoiling anybody's thread or surprise or telling anyone how to do their thing. I'm not on Twitter and am assuming that nobody but Woj and a small group of his ilk get the answers ahead of time. Woj will be on ESPN "spoiling" as many picks as he can, but usually just a couple of minutes beforehand...I don't understand where you can bury your head to watch the draft without spoilers..just NBA.com? Seriously, just trying to understand. It's news to me that I can get all of the answers beforehand-unless you're just talking about Woj's timely popups.

Without a thread like this, if you only want to learn the picks by watching the draft and not learning it before it's announced at the podium, your only option is to stay off your phone and just watch it by yourself or whoever is with you in person. That's great for some, but others may want to discuss it here on the boards as it's happening without the fear of Woj bombs and others posting tweets and leaks of the picks literally 30 seconds before it's announced because heaven forbid we wait 30 seconds, lol.
I wish the NBA would figure out a way to get picks on lockdown and prevent leaks, but that's not the way the world works. There's always some dude in the room who just HAS to let Woj know because it makes him feel important.

...so, somebody (Mod, I guess) will be making the announcements here as they happen and those enjoying this thread will limit their info to this thread to be limited to real-time official announcements?

The problem for me is I would like to enjoy this night spoiler free, but I don’t see how it can happen while still on RealGM.
The wiretap at the top left spoils everything on every page I go to.
