I don't really see there being a much higher chance of finding a star in the 2nd round vs the tons of players in free agency, some of them being former hyped 1st rounders.

you dont have to find a star, but you could find a player better than Iggy, Cannady, Schofield. anything that improves the team

Better of The Lakers and Wizards in 2028.

The Magic now have 6 2nd round picks from teams between 2025 and 2028.

Which will turn into cash considerations and 6 2nd round picks between 2028-2030. 2030 is our championship year.

LOL!

Maybe but you never know when they might use one to pick a player or use one in a non-Draft Day Trade.

It just seems to me that it is quite obvious that in a phase where we are developing talent and prioritizing that above winning now, that we would be stacking up our G League squad and continuing to sift out potential studs.

Who think the Lakers will take this pick and grab someone we wish we could've had?

Like I said the chances aren't really higher that you find a 2nd rounder better than those 2nd rounders in the end. You can get "rehabilitation project" 1st rounders for a 2nd round pick or nothing even. Plenty of ways to find more non superstar players.

I don't see it as that big of a deal, there are way more players than slots available. If they plan on trading any of the current players, they might get add-ons better than what they can draft. All sorts of reasons not to worry about it this much.

Maybe someone on a Two-Way Deal.

With limited roster spots, The Magic likely did not have room for a third pick.

Let's see what they do with #32.

If they take David Roddy I’ll be upset. Or some other 1st round sleeper.

Ownership! Point the finger at ownership. There isnt a single front office alive who would ever trade a 2nd rounder for cash, that is 100% a money grab from owners.

Well, if they have an agreement to sign outright with The G League Team, that would also be an idea.

It would be such a magic thing to give the lakers a quality pick that someday turns into the best player in the draft

Apparently the Magic don't have scouts in Europe for draft and stash....

My prediction...the Lakers draft Koloko and he ends up starting for them. ORL, unable to find a backup Center with Isaac on the shelf, re-sign Mo Bamba for 8m/yr and he does okay other than the two games against LAL, when Koloko eats him alive.

They do it on purpose...they just laugh at us sometimes. It's annoying.
They not only give away good picks, they benefit one of the teams we hate the most
