Most people suspected that he had a promise at the bottom of the 1st round.

I was simply saying that's why most people speculated he didn't do the combine. A promise that ended up unfulfilled.

looking forward to seeing this kid play in summer league and the improvements he has made since his season ended....he says one of the players he likes to watch is klay, i can see the playstyle similarities....this kid could help us if we develop him the right way

Orlando needs shooting and combo-wing depth. I too am excited to see what he brings.
His defensive limitations are why god invented the G-league. I have full confidence that Houstan will develop in to a rotational plaery in time.
This is a pick for the future, not the present.

I am equally curious to see how Mr. 37 develops: Jaden Hardy.

Wow... the guy can actually dribble through traffic and drive to the hoop aside from his 3pt range...

Re: Welcome Caleb Houstan!
Welcome Caleb!
This seems like a worthy gamble, and looking at the rest of the 2nd round I only spot a few names that I would've rather had than him, especially if we wanted to add a wing player. He's young, and his baseline combination of size and shooting/handling ability seems intriguing. That being said, he might need some time in Lakeland to develop. It's a big ask of a guy that wasn't able to be efficient as a college freshman to step into the nba and be a more efficient player, and he still needs improvement as a defender, too, from what I'm reading.
One aside; that his name is "Houstan" and not "Houston" for whatever reason really irks me (I always thought Allan Houston was a cool nba name). Caleb Houston just sounds cooler than Caleb Houstan, but that's neither here nor there, nor something you can hold against the kid.

As a Michigan fan he definitely had his ups and downs for us. But the potential is there he was a smooth stroke and can be deadly from deep. He just needs to get bigger and faster feet

Re: Welcome Caleb Houstan!
this kid was pretty high profile prior to the season, so it may be a value pick. I like it.
Hardy was the big fall, but he's ball dominant and we've now got even more of that-and it was already a problem.
